I don't know, Missy Elliott is the queen mama of rap. Like that woman defined and continues to define the genre through pure influence, effort and talent.

Nicki's career has essentially lasted so long because her management sells her as that generic, pop-friendly, third verse rapper that record companies can pass around. She hit the scene well but relied heavily on dancepop beats rather than actual rap music.

It's why Cardi is more 'loveable' because she feels more independent as an artist. Lately Nicki's work feels like a K-Pop management gone wrong, it lacks authenticity and is just signing up to whatever messy gig is available.

On the flipside, Cardi's violent behaviour is due to being authentically part of her roots. She doesn't really follow the rules of subtle shading and just directly confronts everyone, which didn't end well.
