If songs like Diamond Heart, Joanne, Million Reasons, Sinner's Prayer and Grigio Girls (and other from the album) aren't good music, I really don't want to know what type of music you listen too...

I won't say Joanne is my favorite album from hers, I think I even like The Fame more that I like this album (as a whole piece of work at least, I like some songs from Joanne more than some from The Fame). But there's no way you can say is not a good album and that there isn't lots of good material on it...

I think the biggest problem is that a lot of people don't accept that Gaga is someone who has lots of influences and will explore various genres and always try to reinvent herself sonically, either we like it or not. Or you just accept it and go in with the ride, or you'll be complaining whenever she doesn't do what you want, and this last option is not healthy for anyone...

Because Gaga in Joanne was artífice zero, coming from ARTPOP (artfice much)

Look at the videos from the Joanne era, a lot of fans feeled betrayed because of the lack of glamour and calling it cheap

For them Joanne lacked all the things that make them love Gaga in her first 5 years of career

(When I say artífice is in a constructive way)

There's a running theme amongst the large majority of those people that if it isn't pure dancepop, or anything under that broad umberella heading, it isn't good or worth their time. The fans who hate Joanne for all that it is and stands for are very much Gaga purists who like to pigeonhole. They can't see past the fact she made Joanne predominantly for her and her family, mainly her dad, and it sonically reflected that. They also, 80% of the time, are very much stuck in her earlier era's and, as another user posted, do not hold a very vast musical library in terms of genre and style.

some fans think their musical tastes are superior to others which is ridiculous. some of us like certain things, others don't. stans who will go to war over whether or not x genre is "good" or x album was a "flop" seriously need to grow up - there's bigger things to worry about.

Joanne was an excellent album and Gaga was very passionate about it. some people can't get down for the country esque influence/soft rock vibe of the album which is fine,

It's not an album I listen to (besides Perfect Illusion), but if it's an album that helped Gaga in some way, then I'm glad it exists. Besides, it really does show Gaga's range as an artist.

The thing is, I absolutely LOVED Joanne when it first came out. When I go into a new era of music with any artist, I don't base it off previous previous albums or successes which I feel a lot of fans do. I don't compare like for like. So I was fully into Joanne.

But as time progressed, it kind of became this record that just was 'there'. In 2017, I kind of began to get bored with it. When you dive in deeper, you can TELL this album was rushed and made within 6 months maximum. With the exception of 3 songs (?), the full album sounds like an album full of demos or unfinished material. Her vocals on Joanne sounded very hoarse and you can tell she was smoking during the recording process. The title track sounds like she was just going through the motions. And when you compare it to the piano version she recorded while on tour, its night and day. The piano version is miles better than the album version.

This album could have been amazing if she spent more time on it. The production could have gone much harder even though it was a stripped album.

Because it feels like a bunch of demos, it made it boring to come back to later. Theres only a handful of songs which I like and still listen to. But A Star Is Born is really on another level, and Chromatica is just ace.

I would say I appreciate Joanne for what it was... but Gaga did say that it was an album for her father, and it hasn't healed her father. I appreciate that Gaga wanted to do that era, but the album is one of my least favourites now.

Because they're a-holes with no taste, like this person.

She worked her a** off writing a beautiful album which was deeply personal and dedicated to her family. But because it's not vapid dance pop, they're angry and bitter like they are about most things in their life.

It's an album. Calm down. But also, have some respect for an artist who you claim to be a fan of.

Because Gaga fans expected her to comeback with dance pop music like her old songs from the past and she came out with a stripped down image and serving Country/Rock/Pop/Folk music instead. There is a reason Gaga shaded you all in Fun Tonight. She dislikes her fans inability to appreciate her evolution and change. She also needed Joanne to prove her worth to the public who were over her. I love Joanne  it showed a different personal side to her and added more musical diversity to her discography.

Joanne is a stellar album and it's annoying gays who just want pop record after pop record.

It holds some of her best lyrical work and vulnerable moments yet fans still **** on it. I think it'll age a lot better than some of her more appreciated work but as long as you like it, that's what's most important at the end of the day.

Maybe already been said, but "the dead aunt album" is worse than "hee-haw" or whatever you're on about. I'm far from the PC police but it just seems in poor taste to me

Dunno why people have to hate the album or be shady and catty towards it.

Still enjoy it very much this past weekend I was over YouTube watching the Dive Bar Tour, reminiscing and enjoy which moment.
