JSRD 209
Just a thought, was enigma written for the show and never performed? I can’t help but feel it’s the only song that doesn’t fit in Chromatica, which makes me think it was written beforehand. Any thoughts?

joannesrats 26
I think it was written with the show in mind, but not for the show. I think it fits in with the album spectacularly. If it was written for the show then it would have dropped the first night of the residency.
ShayCristoforo 10,607
Enigma was probably an instant favorite for Gaga and Bloodpop. I'm guessing Enigma (at an early moment) seemed like the heart of the album, and the album title. So Gaga relayed that energy into the show. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time. Woohoo 6,534
I think the word 'Enigma' stuck with her for a long time hence she made a song out of it It's how most artists come up with a title track... IICRC Sia thought the word 'Chandelier' sounded cool and mysterious so she made a hit out of it "I heard if you record Gaga snoring and play it backward it sounds like an act. 2 unreleased." ryansamonster 1,716
If I remember correctly, Gaga first thought about naming the show Enigma during the Super Bowl. JWT didn’t start for a few months after that, with Bloodpop confirming Stupid Love was the first song finished during that time. So what I’m trying to say is the song and the show kind of went hand in hand. Gaga was working on the show and Chromatica at the same time so I think her ideas kinda flowed through into both. Its my favorite song on Chromatica, I think it fits perfectly within the album, but it will also be a segue to revamp the residency.
