JRCF29 8,230
Professional wrestler and AEW roster member Sammy Guevara took to Twitter to apologize for a past joke he made about raping another wrestler. In recently uncovered audio of a 2016 interview, Guevara quipped that when working as an extra for an episode of WWE's 'Monday Night Raw' he wanted to rape Sasha Banks, a longtime employee of the company and multi-time champion. The tweet below was sent by Guevara this morning: Banks, writing under real name Mercedes, also released a statement via social media, revealing that the two had spoken about the incident and stressing that such language is wrong, even in the context of a joke: So far, neither company has issued a formal response but a few co-workers have been weighing in online in support of Banks without directly referencing the interview: Fans have shared their outrage and concern over the comments, but are divided on what punishment they warrant; Some fans have called for his immediate termination, while others think that his apology is enough and that he should simply learn from the incident and move on. The story will be updated as more information about each company's response becomes available. Don't Call Me Gaga
