I mean an actual song that has lyrics "the core of the album"

Imagine if there was an actual song named Chromatica

Oh ma ma ma, Oh ma ma ma, I'm tired of screaming

Oh ma ca ca, Oh ma ca ca, at the top of Chromatica

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.

I don't think we can expect Gaga to keep making Bad Romance 2.0 11 years later.

I think they're referring to a song thats the same quality as Bad Romance. Not literally a BR 2.0

I’ve noticed there isn’t one truly classic, bombastic, batshit insane “Gaga” track.

you might have missed Replay and Babylon:lolly:

Not sure if it needs one. There’s at least lot of “Gaga” on it. As others have said, Alice; 911; Replay; Sine. Nothing as long and epic, it feels though.

But I really would love to hear how RedOne and Gaga’s sound would be all these years later. They’re such a cute duo :diane:

Alice, Rain On Me, Free Woman, 911, Replay, Sine From Above and Babylon are all classics, lets not.

to echo what others have said: i feel like all the songs are of a similar quality. not having ballads really blurs the lines between what is and isn't single worthy, especially when this is her least provocative album ever.

it honestly kinda reminds me of Teenage Dream. Not comparing quality, but that album is similarly balls to the wall commercial pop with 8-9 of the 13 tracks were single worthy. Was there really a standout track from the album? Between Firework, ET, California Gurls, Last Friday Night, and Teenage Dream, it's hard to really discern a "Bad Romance" of Teenage Dream.

Likewise, when you have banger after banger on Chromatica – where you seriously could make an argument for any song of the album getting the single treatment – it's unsurprising that you might say it lacks a "core" track. An album whose main feature is consistency and cohesion makes you think you haven't really hit a peak because the album doesn't have any lows.

that being said, i feel like Rain On Me is that pop song

Alice, 911, SFA... the problem with Chromatica is that almost every song is so perfect it is hard to choose a fan favourite.

The fan favorite is 911... I can’t see the song being popular outside our fanbase but within our fanbase it was a cultural reset

I...understand what you mean, but personally disagree. It’s a solid listen throughout but taken apart there are definite bland songs. (Fun Tonight, Plastic Doll for me). I’d echo that Alice, 911 and Rain On Me are “the” songs from Chromatica but I’d also argue that they’re the three that really don’t share the “Chromatica sound”. Coincidence? Doubtful. Alice and 911 were both Madeon’s only productions and Rain On Me is just a god damn bop (but relatively basic and safe for a Gaga bop). Blood pop is not it for Gaga.
