Also, what exactly does he "agree" with in Tati's video? The majority of her video was about James being an alleged sexual predator, but James proved that he wasn't. 

He says that he "quit" the beauty world, but then still has merch up on Jeffree's website. Besides, he never even made a single video that was remotely like other "beauty guru" channels. 

Finally, he deleted everything and said that he's "too sensitive" for it all  Like, hunny...it didn't seem like you were "too sensitive" for it when you made a 4-page rant riddled with expletives, calling out people for "what they deserved."

It's a shame that he became like this...none of this wouldn't have happened if he wasn't being mentored by Jeffree.

I agree that the way he handled it was sh*t. Shane even says that he regrets the way he handled things and the fact he had it in his trailer for his series with Jeffree. 

I think his rant perfectly depicts his thought processes. He wrote out everything which he was feeling. The Shane Dawson 4 or 5 years ago would have probably turned this all into a comedy skit as he has said multiple times that he deals with his anger, frustration, and pain (anything negative) in a comedic way. So I think this whole rant is genuinely how he feels from the gut without putting any spin on it. That said, I think I would have preferred a video of him discussing things because words can often be misconstrued and taken out of context (like the tweets in the OP), so a video or an audio of some kind would have helped convey it better. 

With James Charles... you or I have never met him and we know nothing about him or his personality. All we can go on is the opinions of others. James has had a reputation among drag queens, other beauty influencers, and YouTube creators, for being very egotistical. Shane makes the point that all the top beauty gurus are egotistical, power/money/fame hungry people... and that can lead to people taking advantage of other people, and thinking they are way better than the rest... which also includes his friend Jeffree. The fact they are always involved in drama, always talking sh*t on Twitter etc tells you all you need to know. It shouldn't come as a surprise that James has a big ego and needed to be humbled. Not saying James is a sexual predator, but there have been multiple stories and accusations... maybe it was an instance of him taking advantage of people and it being interpreted as that, but where there is smoke, there is fire. Tati's video touched upon James being a predator, but the bigger issue was James having a big ego and taking advantage of who he is on people. The point Tati was making was the fact that James really hurt her and has hurt many people with his ego. As I said, maybe he didn't know how his actions would be perceived... but it seemed like sexual exploitation. Especially that waiter 

He did mention that Tati regretted putting that video up and the way she handled that. And I think Shane regrets putting his rant up, which is why he deleted it. 

I don't think Shane being like this is anyone's fault. This rant was probably just an explosion of his emotions... but its not anyone's fault.

So, Shane Dawson expects us to believe he was trying to humble James Charles by getting two other 30 something year olds to Falsly accuse him of sexual assault (which is a really gross thing to do), yeah because ya know when someones ego gets really big you accuse them of sexual assault, potentially ruining their career and gaining you and your boring ass 30 year old friends MILLIONS of subscribers and in turn giving you MILLIONS of dollars

So you are telling me Shane Dawson got Jeffree Starr and Tati to "humble" James Charles. Those are some of the most egotistical youtubers on the planet (and I have no doubt in my mind Shane has a massive f*cking ego, he was complaining that he wasn't on the forbes list for f*cks sake) 

This was all a f*cking cash grab, and he is playing the victim AGAIN, and his teenage audience is gonna defend him because he "Doesn't know better" and he "Is to sensitive" b*tch this man is 31 years old, he has been on youtube for 12 YEARS, have you seen ANY of his past videos but "Oh poor him, he is to sensitive" he is a whole ass adult, he is f*cking fine, he is not a child, so stop treating him like he is

I agree in saying that this was just Shane's stream of consciousness; I just wished that he took more time to think about what he was going to say and how he was going to say it. I also agree that he probably should've made a video addressing all this instead of just writing it out. I think the reason why so many people aren't really liking his statements is because of the same reason people didn't like James' first video to Tati: it's just way too emotional. He shoud've just sat down, gathered his thoughts, wrote out what he was going to say, and presented things in a much more informative and logical way. Writing a 4-page rant filled with expletives kinda only makes the situation worse.

I guess my biggest problem with his statements are just how contradictory and hypocritical they are. Again, like I said, he said he was just going to "quit the beauty world," but he still has merch on Jeffree's site, he's still friends with Jeffree, and they'll probably continue to make more products anyway. It's also not really like he was "in" the beauty world anyway. He made one palette and never really did anything with it...

As for James, look, I'm not the biggest fan of him, so I'm not trying to defend him necessarily, but like I said, I more so have a problem with how Shane handled things. You're right. We don't really know what James is like BTS. None of us know how any of these people act BTS, but another one of my biggest problems with Shane's comments was that he seemed to attack James so much. Like, who is Shane Dawson to decide who needs a "slice of humble pie"? I mean, come on...talk about egotistical...that's it right there. Also, him praising Tati even though most of the stuff she brought up was proven to be fake (or at the very least, misconstrued) by James seems only to further emphasize that Shane just has a personal vendetta against James himself. Again, I'm not necessarily defending James, I just don't like the way Shane decided to go about this whole situation.

I'm not actually sure if the allegations were confirmed fake? But... as I said earlier, when there is smoke, there is fire. It could be misconstrued for arrogance and a big ego. I feel like people feel the same way about James Charles as they do with Ed Sheeran. There is a reason why so many people have an issue with James... not just behind the scenes, but fans too. A lot of people don't like Ed Sheeran because it appears that he has a big ego... especially when he shaded Gaga, and openly talked about how chart hungry he is and how much money he makes. Shane isn't a god, but I do think a lot of people were thinking what Shane had said.

I agree though... a better collected thought out video would have been perfect. But human emotions are not perfect... I think thats why he deleted it. People hated James's video because it came off as fake. The whole pausing in between sentences... there was something off about it. It wasn't a video of his feelings... it came off as planned and he was acting in his response video to Tati. 

I mean, yeah... you can say its hypocritical. But he has merch and things that are already made... its a waste of money to pull it altogether and not sell it. He may as well put it up for sale... plus, its through his friend's website. If he releases another makeup product at some point in the future, then that would be 100% hypocritical. But if the stuff is already made and already up on Jeffree's website, then it would be a waste of money to throw it away, and also a wasted opportunity to keep gaining money. It will probably be the last thing he does in the beauty world.

In regards to James, I definitely think he's egotistical and power-hungry, like many of the beauty gurus, and I do think that he needed to be a bit more humble, but I just dislike the way that he still ultimately defended Tati's video. The video was mainly full of allegations that I believe were proved fake by James himself with "receipts," and texts and everything. Maybe I could be wrong though because all this sh*t happened a year ago, so I don't really remember the exact details  I'm pretty sure he did squash those accusations though because after that second video, people started loving him again. I don't think that would've happened if he did a half-ass job at trying to defend himself, a second time. 

As for why people didn't like his first video, I do still stand by the point that I think it was because people thought it was too emotional and that he really didn't end up addressing anything. It didn't seem "fake" to me. After all, we do know that that whole situation really got to his head...to the point of suicide. 

Speaking of which, that's another issue I have with Shane's statement. He said that James needed to be "taken down a peg," but then doesn't acknowledge the fact that James was literally contemplating suicide. I know he addressed it in another statement later on, but again, I think this is the perfect example of him not really comprehending what he's writing down and just spewing a whole bunch of nonsense. Of course I think Shane wanted to "scare" James, but not to the verge of suicide, but his initial comment disregard any of the psychological effects that James had post that whole scandal.

In regards to his merch, I see your point. I think that maybe he should just sell out whatever he has left, but then stop after that. Either way, most of the money is going to him and it's not like Jeffree wasn't rich before he and Shane started working together. If Shane really wants to leave the beauty world, then he should stop the sales of his products after this reshipment of new orders. At the very least, I think he should stop with the actual make-up products (i.e. the palette, the gloss, etc.).
