Again how would I know that?  seriously this is the only form of relatively public social media I even use anymore. Everything I know about this story comes from here. So yeah, sorry if I feel the need to comment on this specific story because that’s what GGD has informed me on.  The tea is that she kept saying “I was 17” in her post as if that’s even relatively illegal. She was of legal age. and they were only 3 years apart. What do you want me to say? Look on the other thread about this and you’ll see that I’ve been very vocal about how gross he came off. Is that what you want me to say? Again, if he did do something wrong, hopefully he gets justice. That’s all I can say now.

I am a woman who dated a guy who was 21 when I was 18. We started talking before my 18th birthday. I'm not totally sure he knew my age, but he knew I was a senior in high school.

We "dated" for a few weeks, we had sex (my first time), and he immediately ghosted me. Back then, 18 vs 21 felt old because he could drink. When I was 21 I couldn't imagine dating an 18 year old, but I also know that a 3 year age gap isn't all that awful.

My first thought reading this, and I don't care if people drag me, is she said "he was in his 20s" when he was 20. He could of JUST turned 20 for all we know. This alone made me skeptical that she is ALREADY trying to twist the story to make it seem like there was a big age gap.  I have been sexually assaulted before, and I am NOT here for people twisting the facts. It makes it feel like they now have a narrative. 

Now, seeing other women come forward, it is entirely a whole other story. It is disgusting. Right now, I'm speaking about THIS specific incident. But, as a woman who has been assaulted, and have seen many women "lie" about being assaulted by someone who wronged them, it hurts me on levels I cannot explain. So, when I see something like her trying to stretch his age, it makes me mad. It doesn't mean I don't believe her entirely, but it's infuriating.

Not defending Ansel at all. Girl, I can barely defend his music.

But the girl's post was written in a way to make him look really really bad. "hE wAS IN hIs tWenTiES" like bitch he was just 20 years old. A 3 year difference isn't that bad at all. If they were even younger (e.g. 16 and 13) sure but overall it's not that unheard of.

16 is already considered consensual in a lot of developed countries so Ansel's relationship is pretty much vanilla.

What actually happened between them is a different story and not something I can really say anything on. And tbh I always got a bad vibe from him.

Don't further normalize this kind of mindset of "a girl should know what kind of risk a man can do to her in a liberal world of casual hookup sex", because although how liberal the society become, we should really enforce men to be ethical, consensual, and sensible, even when it comes to a brief hookup sex. if Ansel doesn't react like a sensible human when she cries in pain, and takes that as normal occurence on first time experience, I guess we can say he has at the slightest predatory mind, like not caring of how his sex partner feels, and only care the sex on his part. That speaks volume of his humanity value. Don't normalize that. Don't victim blaming. 

 

For me personally, at a case of supposed sexual assault, we cannot risk further the damage to supposed sexual assault victim even when it's not proved yet. It's always messy to handle a sexual assault case. I still think this is not an assault tho, but I feel sad for the girl.

Something wasn’t right when she says “hE wAs iN hiS tWeNtiEs” when in fact he was just 20 years old. Now that it was legal and consensual I guess it sounds like the girl wanted to blow that out of proportions. Those who are quickly jumping to conclusions and using the words “pedo” need to calm down a bit, it’s a horrible word to use on what seemed like a legal hook up. 

And no, I don’t agree with the whole “aLwAyS beLieVe thE viCtiM omFggg”. Yeah getting sexually assaulted is not something one should go through but I know people who have lied just to have people and the law on their side just because they wanted to get their way.
