Lady Gaga's Peak Is The Highest This Century Of Any Artist!

This is from the Pitchfork review of Stupid Love and defines what Gaga is and has been in the pop spectrum :

Lady Gaga has remained one of the biggest pop stars on the planet without actually making much pop music. She abandoned her synths and donned her best cowgirl drag for 2016’s rootsy Joanne, and while she buried a few in-character bangers deep in the soundtrack for A Star Is Born, that movie’s enduring hits were classic power ballads that would’ve sounded just as comfortable in 1978 as in 2018. “Stupid Love,” her new single, is her much-ballyhooed return to pop-as-genre. It’s “classic Gaga,” that imperial phase at the end of the ’00s when the only thing bigger than her hits were the music videos and conceptual art pieces surrounding them.

That’s why I don’t take anyone seriously who tries to use her not being as big as she used to against her. Like, no one would be if everyone peaked as high as she did:air:

I mean she was the most photographed person at the time in her peak, and obviously that coincidences with her being the biggest star at the time. This bitch had a start into her career like no one else... I'm so proud to be her fan, she started so high, had a lot of backlash and still managed to stay relevant and popular. She evolved and learned from her experience. And look where she is now. A ****in Oscar winner. :diane:

She really was the biggest thing in the entertainment industry. That time was so glorious. Will always remember those years and following her career during that time for the rest of my life.

Yes, totally agree... Gaga's peak (in my opinion specifically between Paparazzi and the end of Monster Ball) was Madonna/Michael level of fame

As much as I’ve loooved everything she did during The Fame - The Fame Monster - Born This Way, I’ve been so proud of what she has accomplished since 2014: Cheek To Cheek with legend Tony Bennett, Sound of Music Tribute, Til It Happens To You, Joanne, A Star Is Born and now Chromatica. I knew she was more than just a popstar and I admire her so much. Tony was right about her and he knew it.

I like her new Peak more, it feels less likely that is gonna get all backlashy and overexposed-ish like the BTW era did. She’s more of a fixture now and obviously not going anywhere.

But those numbers from her first few years are gonna be pretty hard for anyone to beat! Very Impressive! That all happened so fast!

I can’t believe she scored 11 consecutive Top 10 hits

In Canada she almost got 14 in a row. MTN broke her streak peaking at #11 :rip:

Wait a minute...

It's actually a streak of 3 consecutive Top 5s because of The Cure :bradley:
