Each song has an obscure structure and don’t follow typical song formats. Which is an experimental writing style. No... Crave, Bitch I'm Loca both have trendy influences from trap and reggaeton and then a lot of other songs are pop. The album is pop and some songs are experimental but the entire album is not. Those 'obscure' vocals aren't only an artistic choice. Even if they were 100% an artistic choice, they failed ( ). The use of autotune on American Life, that is a truly well-done artistic choice. Again experimental songs should be good enough to make you want to listen. Being experimental is not an excuse to not be great..

From the quality of Madonna's vocals to the songs and compositions themselves, the album has others flaws. To say that people don't enjoy it solely because 'is experimental' is deflection. Right? The autotune was trash and cheapened the quality of the album. There are a few songs that could've been great if she didn't use it.
L0NEL1GHTS 1
I’d hardly call this experimental. It’s just a plain old mess. But it’s a fun mess. I like it when she’s unhinged

Crave's main influence is Portuguese fado I'll give it to you on Bitch I'm Loca but the rest of the album is experimental af. The album IS global eXperimental futuristic pop! How are the obscure vocals not an artistic choice. Its obvious she can sing perfectly fine on songs like Looking for Mercy. It seems stylistic. And if you saw the Madame X tour her vocals were amazing! Probably her best performance of Frozen to date! I think AL and this album both have well done artistic choices on autotune but they're very different on how they're used. I believe the songs are very listenable but that's just me. The songs are very deep in meaning and in your face. I can understand why people wouldn't want to listen about political issues in a jarring way on a record, but thats not me I enjoy it immensely "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..." A conventional pop/ R&B ballad with trap touches. The only two truly experimental songs on Madame X are God Control and Dark Ballet. Also, experimental is something that defies genres. A fado song is not necessarily an experimental song. The problem with the album isn't the fact that is experimental, neither what it talks about.. it just doesn't sound good. It's nice that you enjoy the album.. I and many other people don't and I did give it several chances.
