I prefer Future Nostalgia to Chromatica sorry

I saw many reaction videos on Chromatica and they all praised Gaga's vocal delivery.

And they preferred her raw, less-refined voice on songs like Fun Tonight, Enigma and Replay rather than the polished ones (like 911 similar to her voice during TF/TFM era) .

It's just a matter of preference.

Try to dig deeper on genres that has less-pop vocal approach and soon you'll get used to Gaga's.

My opinion was that I have no desire to listen to it. Like most people. so...

Sorry I have to say this. The smooth production throughout the album and Dua’s stunning vocals make for the better listen.

Dua has the perfect voice for pop listening while Gaga’s voice is very shouty and too theatrical at times on Chromatica. If I’m being honest I can’t replay Chromatica everyday the same way I can with Dua’s album. Gaga’s booming vocals are just too much sometimes. Like her vocal style in the chorus of Sour Candy is just unpleasant to listen to (someone should’ve told her it sounds like a frog stuck in her throat).

Gaga’s vocals during TF/TFM were perfect pop vocals and compete with Dua’s vocals now. Conceptually and creativity wise Chromatica is definitely more ambitious, but as a solid body of work Dua’s album is the better pop record. I think it definitely has to do with the vocal delivery.

Posting this with a Rina avi? LOG OFF THE INTERNET ALREADY, ELTON, YOU'RE KILLING US!!!! :messga:

Literally of ALL the things you could come for... her VOCALS? :air: They are the literal highlight of Chromatica. The only song where they get close to being what you described is Replay's chorus, but event that grew on me. Like sorry, love Dua, but this comment applies to Dua way more than Gaga :lmao:

I mean I do too. A simple ‘I Like FN better than Chromatica’ would’ve worked. Or if their reasoning were actually more objective rather than it being subjective to the core and a rehash of what Gaga’s haters on stan twitter say. We truly need pest control :ohwell:

Yeah, exactly. But then we have soft people who actually defend these posts too. :sharon:

I’ll add something i don’t think has really been said yet (though I’m happy the convo has been mostly civil and I’m not trying to be hostile) — I think comparing Gaga’s TFM vocal to Dua’s vocals now makes sense. They were both around the same age - young women in their early 20s - fairly new to pop. Comparing Gaga’s vocals now to Dua’s as if they’re comparable isn’t really fair. People’s voices change! Compare any new pop girl ten years later and their voices are often deeper (Madonna, Gaga, Taylor) or even have lost some of their flexibility (Mariah, Whitney, countless others). We know pop music has a sexist ageism problem (as even Taylor said in her documentary about how pop forgets women in their mid-30s and beyond). It’s great that Dua is becoming a force, and I’m curious to hear her in 10+ years (maybe like Gaga, she’ll be able to take more vocal risks). I remember feeling this way when ARTPOP came out. Gaga really made her voice more theatrical and less light and airy. It’s definitely a stylistic choice and maybe aging etc. i think gaga wants to *challenge* us with her less poppy/less feminine vocal at times, and that’s what keeps her interesting.

It reminds of when I was obsessed with Beyonce & self-titled for a while, and made the mistake of stepping into her base on ATRL, and one of her own stans was in there dragging her because her voice got deeper. The nerve & the tastelessness. :saladga:

What is exactly the point of expression an opinion like this on GaGadaily? :rip: Especially after every fomo tried to compare them which is like? why...

I see it the other way around. Gagas vocals are stunning and full of personlity. For me Chromatica is from the vocal perspective the best Lady Gaga album yet.

I also don't understand the comparison with Dua Lipa because they are so different artists. Except that they are females - they come from different planets and i love Lady Gagas voice to death ❣ i would be so

disappointed when she would try to sing like Dua Lipa or her voice hadn't the evolution

which it had. For me vocally-wise Chromatica is one of the best if not the top of pop albums of the past 20 years.

That’s totally understandable and you don’t have to be sorry about it, I don’t know why most people here are making fun of it, Future Nostalgia is a really good album and one of the best pop ones to come out in recent years in my opinion.

I still think Physical is such a great song and I like it so much more than Stupid Love.

If you don’t like her vocal delivery on this, then you actually must have jumped ship since BTW, cause she has been serving her theatrical, raw vocals since 2011 (and even started to do so on a certain TFM tracks like Bad Romance or Teeth).

In other words, you’re certainly not a Gaga fan.

To each their own. I love both albums :enigma:

In Chromatica, no one album is better than the other.

Imagine being a Gaga fan in 2020 and being disappointed by the fact that Gaga “shouts” on her choruses.

Chile... that’s been her signature for a while now :triggered:

good in bed is a fun song and boys will boys i felt that. i’ve had to walk home with my keys between my knuckles countless times.

i like chromatica better, but people are acting like FN is trash and it’s just not. i’m not even a dua stan and i think people are being way too extra.

I have seen a pattern that when a person doesn’t like Gaga’s vocal delivery on Chromatica they have a really narrow music taste. Wanting her to sound sweet and soft is so off-brand and completely boring.

She’s Gaga, she’s not Britney Spears.

Sorry, but the last two songs gave me HUGE blue balls. Good in Bed is atrocious musically to me. And Boys Will Be Boys is just misguided feminism

Don’t get me wrong, FN is solid. A lot of it is super inspired and has a real vision. Physical is Dua’s best song by a MILE, DSN is a slap, BMH is a slap, Hallucinate and Love Again are slaps...
