TheSlash 14,539
We wouldn't have LG6 now, but rather nothing . But seriously, it's not nearly as iconic as Just Dance. Ew, David!

They never tried to make BDR 'happen.' It was planned as the 2nd single, and had its MV and visuals recorded before being replaced by Pokerface. It wasn't sent to Radio / given a limited release like Eh, Eh or DITD were. I love how The Fame gave us 4 smash hit official US singles with iconic imagery and cross-channel success + MV/visuals for BDR + Eh, Eh + Again, Again / Brown Eyes in "The Fame" short-film. The success (Charts) of BDR / Eh, Eh / Again, Again / Brown Eyes isn't relevant since they weren't intended to make noise in the US + the 4 official singles were perfectly rolled out. It makes for a very full era, even leaving TFM aside. In hindsight, I wish that they had milked her peak popularity and released more from TF / TFM since BTW was a disaster re: its singles/ MVs, ARTPOP died after Applause, and Joanne ended with the messy Million Reasons MV after it battled A-YO to be the 2nd single. I don't think ANY of the uptempo songs would have "flopped" as a 5th single from TF; if it weren't *actually* a successful Top 5 song, we'd be talking about "disco stick" like we do "in the morning, buy me eggs." The truth is, the GP was eating up anything Gaga served. It may not be worth messing with the timeline of her career; but, I can't help wonder if releasing Starstruck (#4) > Paparazzi (#5) > [Fame re-edition] Telephone (#6) would've allowed her to develop TFM into a complete LP separate from TF and released after a break. Flo Rida was a huge name and Starstruck - while dated - was a perfect Summer '09 song, Paparazzi was climbing when Bad Romance cannibalized it, and Telephone never fit the theme of TFM to me. She could've gotten a 3-3-1 run out of those songs, IMO. Then, Bad Romance as a true lead of a new LP could've gone #1 the next year without Tik Tok/Empire State of Mind blocking it, followed by DITD > Alejandro > Monster > Speechless (and 3-4 other tracks for a ~12-track LP) going 3-5-5-8 or so. Regardless, asking to change the song that ultimately launched her amazing career and wondering whether another track from The Fame would have been MORE iconic is a little ridiculous. It doesn't get MORE iconic than Lady Gaga's intro to the world via Just Dance IMO.
Blown Away 5,218
Boys Boys Boys is a bit too bubblegum to be Gaga's debut. I think the dance-pop sound was exactly what was needed in 08-09. Starstruck would've worked as well, the urban dance sound was in its final days back then. The only other non-single that would've worked imo is Beautiful, Dirty, Rich. They shipped it, but it got shipped back
