I have a theory that the Chromatica tracks being playlisted more are to spread out the streams. Basically they give 1000 Doves playlisting to help it, rather than giving it to 911. Fun Tonight having no playlisting and keeping up is because it has genuine appeal and will be made a single :derpga:

The difference between NRO and NWW is that NWW was released after the TrueView controversy with that one Indian artist breaking the YouTube record just by placing ads everywhere. Ever since that, ads don't count towards the view counter anymore and YouTube has become increasingly stricter with suspicious views and actually removing them (Katy losing 10M views after a few days, BTS losing 30M views on release day).

Oh, of course they were taking advantage to that. Every A list artist debuted with a huge true view campaign. And they still do because in the end it’s part of a promotional campaign. For charting purposes as we’ve seen with NWW it’s very likely that they are trying to pull out something for charting purposes lol. 

 

Views coming from a trueview campaign for count for the counter though, they just don’t count for the YouTube weekly chart :)

This kind of "algo-change" effect is also the reason why Kworb hides his weekly,monthly,yearly views now.. i cant remember the last song that showed such abnormal jump but yup i guess YT messaged Kworb or something
