Everything sounds so repetitive now tho

It's called using your platform as an individual to amplify a global plea for justice, and honestly I wish you were more annoyed by the pervasiveness of racism than repetitive social media posts.

lmao this is about black lives, being POC doesn't give you permission to indulge in performative anger. If you're not black, it is your JOB to advocate, educate and amplify - shaming people, performative anger or aggression is doing NOTHING to help the black folks that need us to do the heavy lifting. So let's just get that bit straight.

Second, no one said you're not allowed to comment on his stance - I'm just pointing out the fact that you are clearly more interested in being perceived as an angry woke ally who knows more than other people, rather than someone who is actually out there doing the work and fighting for black lives.

You're more than welcome to drag KJ Apa - and I will continue to point out how ineffective and misguided your approach to advocating for black lives is by focusing on what celebs say on their social media. :reductive:

Alternatively, let me know if you want to do better and need help finding the contact details of your local representatives to rally for police reform and the arrests of law enforcement responsible for the murder of black lives! Always happy to help

honestly not even going to bother with you haha you're such a clown.

when did i indulge in performative anger?? you clown i was talking about facing systemic racism, which I have faced, as a result of being brown and because of my religion.

i live in canada sis and we don't have a problem with police killing unarmed innocent black people to that extent. you literally just jumped from your last comment to this one and you have an entirely different stance. If you check my comment history you would know I have been advocating not only online but also going to protests IN CANADA for a problem that's in YOUR COUNTRY so I don't know where you just made those random assumptions from.

anyways we don't need white twinks like you telling black/poc how we should/shouldn't be angry so just shut up clown.

the thing is no one's bashing ppl who aren't usually active on social media. we all know which people post 10 stories a day on instagram and those that post very rarely. it becomes questionable when you're posting those 10 stories but you're at a loss of words all of sudden when it comes to human rights. like you don't even have the energy to make a statement on things that are plaguing society.

but thats besides the point, we're talking about kj apa - we know that he has been active on social media and that he has made the choice to not post anything about blm. personally i have been speaking up about it on social media and have been going to protests as well bc i believe in both. If kj wants to go to protests thats great but celebrities efforts would be much better served by also raising awareness online.

yeah I guess your history definitely comes into play big time, I hadn’t really seen it that way. Thanks for that! :nick:

you do realize that social media and people speaking up on it led to the protests that eventually led to some accountability right. if no one bothered posting those stories/videos demanding change we'd still be at square one, but thanks for the hot take...

not posting about it makes you complicit with whats going on. you wouldn't stay quiet if it was your brother or sister getting choked to death so why should we as society stay quiet when thats the fate of innocent black people daily for the past 400 years?

I actually probably wouldn’t post about my brother or sister getting choked to death bc, again, I use my Twitter for memes and my Facebook for recipes :vegas: but thanks for your opinion. I guess I’m a racist since I use social media for enjoyment

:ohwell: I mean he doesn't HAVE to do anything. Really, it’s fine if not every celebrity chimes in. Especially if they feel not educated enough on the issue. It’s better to have legit info spread than someone misinformed spew nonsense.

yup i love how gaga handle this things, she give her media social to black comunity to educate her audience. i mean like she give her whole stage to people who really understand what's going on
