I still can't get over what the Barbz did to her, especially with Nicki's own very problematic history. It illustrated how sick and twisted stan culture can be. I'm not excusing Cardi's past actions (drugging someone to steal their money is obviously a terrible thing to do), but it was so very wrong how they took it out of context to make it sound like she raped various men and stole from them & basically tried to destroy her career. As someone who liked Nicki (the second Tekashi collab...just too much...but I'll separate the art from the artist) and still likes Cardi, going to be interesting to see how Nicki reacts. Cardi says the N-word and goes out of her way to let everyone know she's not black but y'all gunna let that slide. She's also said a laundry list of other slurs directed at POC. I was a Cardi supporter mostly from 2016-2018 especially during the Invasion of Privacy era, which truthfully I purchased the day it came out and still listen to it but looking back the album and her career was really really polished to the point where it was intended to be mainstream and you can tell she doesn’t write a majority of her material. Yet, somehow, I was proud that she won a Grammy for it. I never stanned her full-time though, Nicki’s my #1 rapper. And the Cardi vs. Nicki feud was just too much (and also, other reasons like drugging and robbing men). I will always stan Nicki above Cardi. At the end of the day, Cardi is more of an entertainer than a rapper. I give her props for “being real” or whatever and using humor to help create her image/brand, but there’s only so much you can do when you’re not musically gifted. Hopefully the new music will be somewhat good. Also, WOW... surprise surprise surprise, most of you are only supporting Cardi because you hate Nicki so damn much. It’s disgusting.
