they idolize beyonce a little too much tbh, like homecoming: the live album for album of the year??? seriously??? that sh!t made virtually zero noise nor did it have any lasting impact. it’s literally just a live album, stop sucking her d!ck so much

at six years old I was still throwing spaghetti at the wall and constantly crying... and she’s already nominated for a prestigious award? :air:

She’s doing the same except she’s Beyonce’s child so she’d get nominated for throwing spaghetti at a wall and making sound with it..

I just don't appreciate a 6 year old being shoved down our throats. Let her grow and develop her 'talent' first, and let her make a name for herself instead of only being known for Beyoncé's daughter. :billie:  she didn't have to work for that, whereas many others who were not nominated had to go through the grind :billie:  They should stop shoving that family in our faces, its so 2005 :billie:

It's literally viewed as one of the best live performances of all times but go off I guess

this sort of stuff is ridiculous and shows the privilege people get from just who they are or who their parents are :saladga:

Welcome to the entire entertainment industry lol the idea that artists come out of nowhere is bs. Even someone like Lupita Nyongo who isn’t American is the daughter of a fairly well-off government official in Kenya which afforded her the opportunity to go to Yale.

Or in Gaga’s case, her parents had enough money to raise two girls in New York City, living on Manhattan, and going to private school. Then they were able to pay Gaga’s rent living alone for a year while still being able to afford their own home. That’s a dec amount of privilege despite how she paints the story sometimes.

Jamie Lee Curtis is the daughter of famous actress Janet Leigh.

people still need to work hard, that can’t be discounted, but the illusion that “the grind” is what puts you someplace is just that. It’s undoubtedly more critical to be born of a certain privilege and then it’s what you do with the opportunities provided by those privileges. Some make it from very little but that’s really so few a number of people that they’re outliers to the rule.
