Why do y'all think Gaga collabed with BLACKPINK and Ari?

As much as I love ROM and Sour Candy, I still can't wrap my head around why Gaga wanted to collab with these girls. I kinda get why she'd collab with Ari but BLACKPINK is just so random. I always thought that Gaga would collab with people she had a great creative affinity with and is highly inspired by. Gaga's stated before that she'd only collab with someone once she's fully gotten to know the artist and know where they are at mentally. (Hence why the collab with Cher got cancelled) A collaboration with a K-Pop group just seems like she's pandering for streams instead of trying to make art. Why would Gaga who detests manufactured pop artistry, want to work with K-Pop? I might get dragged for this but I don't know much about Korean pop culture. I do know that idols from Korea sign "slave contracts" and are manufactured to the core. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Shower Caddy will perfectly catch her up to the kpop audience

Reign On Me brought her to the steaming era and brought her the ultimate streaming promo

Shine From A Glove was to reestablish her with her U.K. audience and the older generation

please enlighten me to death

She wanted a Korean girl group Crayon Pop to open for her before, so I don't find it surprising at all. Plus, her best friend is from South Korea.  On top of this, maybe she actually likes Blackpink's music?

Gaga's and Ariana's relationship really looks genuine.

We don't have enough information with BLACKPINK and their relationship, but I'm sure the future will tell us. However, Gaga did say she loves them and called them extremely talented and she feels like the 5th member of the group, plus BLACKPINK many times stated they love Gaga, so I wouldn't be surprised if their relationship was also genuine too.

I remember her saying she wants EVERYONE to hear the new music, so she’s expanding her audience by getting Ariana, BLACKPINK, and Elton to be on her album.

She wanted to be less egotistical, and wound up with this music.

But if you've noticed Gaga is a geek. She loves Japanese stuff, which naturally leads to Korean stuff. It's not a difficult idea that she found BlackPink on her own.

No Gaga era is complete without a set of bomb ass interviews. :(

Majority of the fanbase have been wanting Gaga to collab with her peers and not just her seniors. Lots of current Gaga fans are teenagers and people in their 20s and early to mid 30s. These people are reacting more positively to the current artists than artist of the pasts, as cool as it is. So I am glad that Gaga give some of this collab to them.

But anyway, you did the mistakes some others did by trying to put Gaga in one box. It's been 10+ years since she started her career, as a fan you should know enough by now to never ever do that, as Gaga is ever evolving.
