Billie Eilish: She is more alternative but overall she is a big artist here rather than a "main pop girl". Halsey: She had potential for being a main pop girl back in 2018 & early 2019 but she is way too problematic and her music is mediocre imo. Camila Cabello: She is technically a main pop girl here but one of the weakest with her recent singles flopping expect "My Oh My". She is also very problematic and her sophomore album underperformed (it didn’t flopped imo). Ava Max: One Hit Wonder, sadly. She had potential but with a bad follow up single choice, little promotion, and a loss of anticipation for a debut album can change everything (Also, comparisons to Lady Gaga hurt her career here as well). Her label sucks. Overall, Dua Lipa is a main pop girl here (and I don’t see that changing for a while). I see Billie Eilish making a more pop sounding album in the future, like her EP. Halsey will start flopping in the near future (probably the third album rollout). Camila Cabello: If she wants to keep her title as a main pop girl, she needs to release more music with Shawn. Ava Max will more than likely stay a worldwide pop star, unless her label promotes her more in the US or TikTok manages to get her another hit. I think she will release another album less popular than the current one, then stay in the top 30 area. Halsey. she will be a top 15 pop girl for the next 3 years, then she will fade into top 40-50. Camila. I don't see her becoming known any further for more than a few top 40 features. Ava. I do not see her being a main pop girl at all. She will have a few top 40 hits but nothing more. I feel like people say "main pop girl" when they really mean like "icon superstar diva" with very high standards. Like idk it's very random and weird to me. Economy 46,898 Posted June 12, 2020 Share Posted June 12, 2020 I'd say Dua Billie Eillish has a bigger cult following and bigger fan base and I can see her having a long successful career that way but I don't see her hype with the general public lasting very long. She's my favorite of the ones you listed btw so I don't say this in a biased way Camila is like a Selena Gomez... She has the occasional big hit per era but most of her stuff is just moderate hits. She will have enough success to be relevant (at least for now) but probably never enough to to the level of being the "main pop girl" And Ava Max has only had 1 true mega hit so far But Dua Lipa is definitely on a rising tear. It's not like there's any other major competition right now anyway unless u consider Ariana Grande pop which she kind of is even tho some ppl consider her R&B but she feels more pop to me tbh But of the new girls I'd say Dua Lipa is the closest to becoming a big "it girl" in pop I think Billie Eillish will have the longest career overall tho.
