She isn't. Fergie wanted to finished her Double Dutchess album, and that time release date wasn't even exist. While BEP already have album to release, so Fergie left so the band can move on with their plans, and she can focused fully on Double Dutchess.

And we all know how it went....

I feel like she had issues with Will and that's why she's not back.

Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.

I'm quite conflicted as they really switch to latin market

but it's a pretty good project in a while? (the last project was pretty meh)

It's like, trap world starting ignoring them, and they'd be like f*** it, we're going latin anyway.

I really can't get over how this group switches their sound for every big music preference shift in the industry. They used to be an underground group before they got their big break, then they went into a somewhat alternative hip hop with their first 2 albums, that felt like their authentic selves. But then they saw the big mainstream hip hop/RnB explosion coming, so they went totally mainstream for their next 2 albums, Elephunk and Monkey Business, which got them major success. Then 2008 hit with the big electro boom. They jumped on that train hella quick and and it resulted in The END and The Beginning. They realised they were getting oversaturated by this point and took a big hiatus. In this time, will.i.am made music of his own that followed more of the electropop trend, he even changed his personal hairstyle and clothes to look "futuristic." Then BEP came back 2 years ago, as the hip hop trend came back along with the trend of black artists speaking their truth about the black experience and that's when they released Masters Of The Sun Vol. 1 which was a more traditional hip hop album with songs talking about racism, police brutality, social issues, etc (like their very first albums but more mainstream). Now, they're hopping on the Latin music trend...just as its started to die down in the English speaking market. Truly, their legacy as a group will be a strange one, when you look back at their history. It makes you ponder - who is this group really? Do they have a set style? Or do they just adapt their music to whatever is trendy at the moment? Because due to this, their music sounds so dated. I once heard a simple yet great phrase: "By trying to make something more current, you make it more dated." I have seen so many artists try to attempt relevancy for the charts and it never comes off well.

So they jumped onto the reggaeton trend. How convenient is that?

3-5 year too late :billie:  I'll never fogive them for turning a 90s club hit into trash that became RITMO

Isn't that basically what these trendy rappers/reggaeton/trap stars have been doing lately? They take a successful song, and they add their nonsensical lyrics to it, a producer mixes it and these atrocious catchy songs come to life.

The death of music basically.

but the BEP are nearing 20 years in the music business... they shouldn't be doing the bare minimum and become soundcloud artists. They used to be pioneers of music, Gaga worked with will.i.am... like, I expect so much more than that.
