Terrence 1,206
Are the transitions in Chromatica too rushed? They are so quick that don't even feel like transitions, all mushed together. 1. Chromatica I -> Alice - It's ALRIGHT. 2. Alice -> Stupid Love - No transition 3. Stupid Love -> Rain On Me - Semi-questionable: ROM could've benefited from a longer intro that 'sets' the tone, or either start with the first verse - instead we just get some random trumpets that don't add anything for 1 second. 4. Rain On Me -> Free Woman - No transition: Yet ROM ends so annoyingly abrupt. When the single was released I was thinking it was abruptly cut because of the next song transition, but there is nothing. It would've been nice to get those last echoes of "RAIN. ON. ME." fading into silence, much more satisfying. 5. Free Woman -> Fun Tonight - No transition (?) 6. Fun Tonight -> Chromatica II - Don't think qualifies as transition to have a fade out and fade in. 7. Chromatica II -> 911 - One of the only true transitions on the album, and a favorite. Although it bothers my OCD that the beat of 911 comes just slightly late to make it noticeable... 8. 911 -> Plastic Doll - Excuse for a transition(?): The tracks just crossfade into each other without any real instrumental connection. 9. Plastic Doll -> Sean Cody - No transition. 10. Sean Cody -> Enigma - No transition. 11. Enigma -> Replay - Good, subtle transition. 12. Replay -> Chromatica III - Guess we can call that a transition.. 13. Chromatica III -> Sine From Above - The best transition IMO, it took around 15 seconds, but the transition was done flawlessly, something that the other transitions lack (except 911 of course). 14. Sine From Above -> 1000 Doves - Painful. Some quickie slight crossfading thats hurts more than adding anything. 15. 1000 Doves -> Babylon - Some quickie slight crossfading thats hurts more than adding anything. IMO many of these suffered from wanting to make the songs 2 minutes longs. The album could've worked brilliantly by taking the couple extra seconds needed to build these transitions properly, for the most part, similarly to CIII to SFA. uo111 5,261
I don’t recall songs transitioning into on another on most albums. The interludes transition fine into their respective song imo, although I wouldn’t miss them if they were gone.
NFRatwell 23,290
I like them. Let’s remember this is her first album that attempts to sound somewhat cohesive. She did great.

Bravo. you do realise the order of the tracklist would be one of the last things done, considering there is probably many demos made in aim to make the album, the interludes transition into the next track perfectly
