Bjaf 1,336
Hi there! I know there have been a lot of different interpretations of the songs on Chromatica, and I have been reading those with eager interest. However, it brings me no pleasure whatsoever to announce that you have been wrong all along. I applaud your dedication in dissecting an artist’s work so passionately, although your takes were often disgustingly inaccurate. Every song on Chromatica is about her fans. Alice: This is probably an obvious one, but “wonderland” here represents the world her fans have built for her (and for all!): a safe haven that is free of judgment, fat shaming and, most importantly, transphobia. Stupid Love: “I want your stupid love” - whose love? Ours, of course! But has she deserved it? “Higher, higher” is the desperate cry of fans readjusting their expectation levels in preparation for the next album cycle. Rain on Me: “Rain on me” is a call for her fans to spend money on her newest merchandise. One might find this offensive, but ultimately, we should rejoice in the fact that she's going all in with promotion this era. We have Bobby to thank for this! Fun Tonight: “Wish I could be what I know I am” - and who is better placed to remind her than her own fans? Some of us have spent over a decade invested in Gaga and her art, and it is safe to say that, at this point, we know her better than she knows herself. “I feel like I’m in a prison hell / Stick my hands through the steel bars and yell” - she’s reaching for us, and we’re here to get her out. Plastic Doll: “I am top shelf, they built me strong”. This song is one big thank-you note to her fans. After all, it is thanks to us, our love and our understanding that she is strong today. Dare I say this one might be about GagaDaily specifically, considering that we have created a space free of toxicity for her to thrive in? Sine From Above: We are literally the sine. We are the gift that she has been searching for all her life. “I heard one sine from above” - the yells of fans at Super Saturday Night asking for her to sing Stupid Love one month prior to its official release. “I looked with my face up to the sky, but there was nothing there”, because we were actually screaming from the general admission. Thank you for reading!
