How about making the ceremony more inclusive for songs and albums in other languages too and not have the songs from latin artists separated  in a whole other awards show?

I said this earlier. Glad they're making this change.

That said, expect those acts, like The Weeknd, to be nominated in the pop categories. i.e. bye bye Grammy for Chromatica.

I'm curious why urban is bad, but latino is ok?

Please PLEASE tell me you are actually deliberately attempting to joke and don't actually think Urban is an ethnicity like Latino :rip:

To be fair, the Grammys are an american award show. There should be a worldwide award show that does this, though.

Urban music is a term in musicology that has nothing to do with race tho. Its not really incorrect to call hip hop urban music.

Tho id need to actually a bit better before making such a statement tbh

Latinos are a whole other demographic though and even have their own tv networks which means more $ to them

One could argue that latino is ok because it refers to Latin languages and makes sense since the music is in spanish/Portuguese

Dont go on the attack. It was a question.  Why it is ok to have separated latino categories?

Agree, but the thing is that they're known for putting black artists in that category when their music isn't even 'urban'. For them, black music = urban music, and that's obviously racist. Glad they wont do that sh*t ever again

But there are many artists who sing in spanish and are still from the US, and a pop song sung in spanish (or whatever language) is still pop, a rap song in spanish is still a rap song etc, they aren't a different genre just because they are sung in a different language.

Thanks. I'm really uninformed on this subject.
