All the things she said about it point to him. She only worked with one producer when she was 19, that was 20 years older than her (Rob is, proven in legal docs). The biggest clue to me is when she said on Howard Stern that the producer in questionĀ claimed in the media that they dated. No other producer that Gaga was worked with, of any age in any time frame has claimed to have dated her.

There are many other things that line up to the things she's said as well, but of course we don't KNOW 100%

Omg you're right this does kinda make senseĀ :saladga:

Was she working with him in 2006? I thought they got to know each other starting from 2007. But yeah, there's no way to know 100%

I really hope she can overcome the pain and the trauma fully from her assault one day. It breaks my heart when she says she still isn't "brave enough to say his name out loud in front of the whole world". She deserves only happinessĀ :ohno:

buzzkill

Its naive to think that some monster toxic behavior wouldnt affect her. Its okay that sometimes she gets triggered by some monster actions and wanted to share those feelings in a song. Its such a BOP btw

It’s about her PTSD, so whatever caused that for her. It could be a combination of things.

I don’t think it’s about us..Ā I think Fun Tonight is definitely a shot at us though hahahahha

That’s an interesting take on fun tonight! When I was reading the lyrics though I had a strong feeling it was about Carino. But I feel like it could be about both now that you say thatĀ

Yeah, I don't want to derail this thread tooĀ much but as I said there are lots of other little things that point to him as well.Ā

And the really messed up part is, even if she DID want to name him, the terms of their lawsuit settlement from 2010 prevent her from speaking disparagingly about him at all (not that that's stopped him many timesĀ >:(). Things would get real messy real quick.

I too hope she can find peace even if there won't be legal justice for herĀ

It could be a very straightforward way to confront her molester, that even though he completely broke her spirit by assaulting her and that she feels numb from the pain, he's still trying to pretend like nothing really happened. Her life is ruined anyway.

I get it in the context of the song, but it just sounds so clunky and forced to me that it's funny

The music industry in generalĀ

That's Plastic Doll and parts of Fun Tonight, not ReplayĀ :rip:

Replay is a veryĀ personal song

Fun Tonight to me screams of her internal Gaga vs Stefani battle. Gaga loves the fame, Stefani struggles. Stefani screams for help, Gaga shuts her down and parties to distraction. Stefani looks in the mirror and doesn’t think she’s enough, Gaga’s confidence convincesĀ her she is.

I stare at the girl in the mirror, she talks to me too

Yeah, I can see it in your face
You don't think I've pulled my weight
Maybe it's time for us to say goodbyeĀ

I feel like these lyrics are totally about the times Stefani may have wrestled with it being too difficult to be Gaga.

Anyhoo, back on topic (sorry!), I absolutely believe Replay is about her rape and the trauma and PTSD that it led to.

I remember in her interview with Oprah she said that everything that has happened to her was meant to happen, including the rape, and I thinkĀ theĀ you’re the worst thing and the best thing that’s happened to meĀ line references that.Ā
