This really baffles me. In my country this would've never be allowed to happen on this scale. Don't come crying in 3 weeks when there's a new splurge of corona infections and mass people dying, restricted lockdown again and severe economic damage. People really forgotten that like 2 months ago 2000 people/day were dying because of corona in the US? 

Note: this does not mean that I don't support the cause of all these demonstration

Maybe they don't care, but the thing is that this virus does not make any distinction who it'll infect. Protesters going back home in the evening to their parents can infect their parents, usually of older age, with a higher percentage of dying.

In a way, the scale of these protests wouldn't be possible in normal times, so it is how it is.

For the greater good. Sometimes that comes at a price 🤷🏼‍♂️ sorry but the virus is hardly a killer influenza virus like in the early 20th century. I get where people are coming from  but THIS IS THE TIME to make a change. The momentum is in overdrive and this is the only opportunity we get to drive this movement forward - thanks to George Floyd's case. Unfortunately, it needs to be done.

They are willing to risk their lives to let their voices be heard. They know that this wave will not come again until another viral death of a black person happens. I understand. I just hope that a miracle happens, and that COVID-19 won't be in these crowds.

Everyone knows the risks. The fact that hundreds of thousands of people are showing up everyday across the world to do this means they consider this chance to destroy pillars of systemic racism as more important.

I mean, I don't see any problem if people are willing to risk their lives for a greater cause. But they are risking other people's lives by doing it recklessly, and, in a way, that makes them the same as the people they are fighting against.

I want people to protest and then self quarantine for at least 14 days without social contact. But we all know that will never happen.
