I have to admit that, sometimes, it was really hard to watch, I cried so much watching this series ´cause I identified so deeply with the characters but as a transwoman myself, I had never felt more understood, it really helped me gain more confidence too ! I’m so grateful this show gave me an opportunity to know more about the struggles the LGBT community went through.
 

I'm sure you've heard about many of these things but here are some movies/series with quite realistic despictions (IMO) of transwomen characters/issues played by trans actresses:

Her Story (web series) on Youtube produced and played by Jen Richards. She also appears in Mrs. Fletcher.
Euphoria (series) on HBO has an bad-ass teen girl as one of the main characters.
Tangerine, A Fantastic Woman are some of my recent favourites movies, which happen to portray modern and complex trans women issues.
Transparent (series) on Amazon was so good, many trans women in both cast and production. The thing is that the main character, a transitioning woman, was played by a cis male actor who later had sexual abuse accusations.

For more ball room scene representation, the historic docu Paris is Burning or the new amazing HBO show Legendary.

Also Angelica Ross who play Candy in POSE has a cute role in AHS:1984 and appears in Her Story.

I loved season one so much, but had to stop watching after Pray Tell slept with Ricky. It was too much for me. S2 wasn’t great imo, but the first season is by far one of the best things to ever happen in television.

AMAZING show, i can't recommend it enough. My favourite episode is when the girls go to the beach house in series 2, I laughed from start to finish.

As a trans woman myself I loved it and I'm very happy how they told the story, real humans, real issues. The LGBT+ community needed this show. It makes us more 'normal', we're not that different from the rest of the world. It wasn't glamourised in any way. One of my fave shows all time

One of the best shows out there and it deserves all of the praise is gets.

Candy's episode from S2 (ep 4)...still haven't recovered. Still think about it.

OMG so amazing and necessary. It's good to see how LGBT community was before and see how the things have changed. Some episodes were very sad to me, so I cried a lot, especially having friends with HIV. Every LGBT should watch.
