Shocking that some of these are recent, how long has she been in business? Shocking how you think some recent actions makes her a saint.

Beyoncé isn’t a new 2020 artist, Boris. How awkward for you.

Beyoncé has been active on the BLM movement since its inception. If you look at one of the articles, you'll see it's dated 8 days after BLM started. She's used her voice numerous times to speak on the issue, including the Super Bowl which draws a predominantly white audience. And just because she hasn't spoken up previously, doesn't mean she didn't support it. Artists might have a platform, but they have to watch what they say while building that platform in order to not lose it. It'd be more worrying for her to speak against it. Stop trying to be fake woke and putting people's names in your mouths when you have no business speaking on their lives. I've seen you doing this across the forum and it's not helpful in the slightest. Question people and their intentions, but don't try to call them out without concrete proof. Beyoncé has used her voice when able to speak on multiple issues such as cultural views of women, feminism, and racism. Trying to call foul without a real basis does nothing but make you look bad.

Meryl Streep already made that joke, except in her case it was a response to a question and she was trying to brush off praise :vegas:

Not that I have any particular gripe with what Beyonce said, I'm just pointing out that I don't think what she said is the empowering message she thinks it is :selena:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

She acts like being nominated itself isn’t an honor, jeez...

I don't think so. It's just a different honor because you can still face disappointment. Winning you don't. She was simply articulating that she's had successes and disappointments in her career. The hate for this person doesn't have to be so deep lol

Y'all need to chill on the Beyonce hate. The point she was making was that that was a professional setback for her/disappointment. This site *really* likes to dig into women for some reason and it's, frankly, hella toxic and embarrassing.

Stop making everything about race. It’s ignorant and racist pointing out skin tone of a person that someon critiques. Like... do you think that if she’s a black woman then everyone have to praise her? It’s racist. Everyone’s equal and everyone can get critique if it’s not about the race itself.

THANK YOU

These people are so annoying, idc if you are black white green or whatever, if you are a phony you are a phony PERIODT.

Gracious Gaga

she's a pop star. this is a way for her to relate to losing/not always being a winner. stop bashing her for being successful.

Why are people getting angry over her comment? There’s literally nothing wrong with it. :rip:

She shouldn't have said the exact numbers. That just completely lacks in self-awareness and is the definition of humble bragging. Thinking that losing a Grammy is in any way a hardship is not it. She's only 4 awards away from becoming the most decorated female artist of all time, so losing 46 times is completely cancelled out. If you really want to try to make a hardship out of it, getting nominated 46 times and losing every time is a better point. The most nominated without winning artist is Zubin Mehta - 18 nominations, no wins. Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

You’re so unbelievably ignorant. She has been advocating for this movement since it’s inception.

Holy ****

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

She jumped onto this like she jumped onto her other number 1s. Sorry, u can google to see how horrible of a person she is to her past bandmates.

Once again, bandwagoning does not make one a saint.

Wow how emabarrassing for you. Can you name ONE main pop girl that spoke up about black rights before Beyoncé through their music? Y’all need to stop making excuses to criticize black artists because it’s getting ugly to see. Just by being black and existing in an industry that has EVERYTHING against them she’s helping the cause.

Well it lacks sensitivity and is out of touch. The rejections the graduates will face will be real rejections. not getting jobs they apply for. not getting promotions because of sexism, racism etc. Saying she knows rejection because was honored to be nominated doesn't compare to the hardships normal people will face. Its like a super model telling us she knows rejection because that one boy she texted one time didn't respond within 5 minutes, just later that day.

but she meant well, so that's what counts. no need for drama.

Beyoncé can come off as pretentious just like Gaga did back in the day but the difference is that Beyoncé is such a bad speaker so what she says can be misunderstood.

... I'm now considering this and trying to go into an in-depth analysis of "When he f**k me good I take his a** to Red Lobster, 'cause I slay" :oprah:
