I've watched the whole thing live as well and it was the only part that didn't set well with me either.
She can talk about this, of course, has done it before, in an interview where she said "you can work so hard, and still lose!" and in that context it worked, but here it was kinda irky, to say "not winning a Grammy you're nominated for" is "rejection".

And yet you chose to focus on the ONLY part that didnt set well with you. If only you applied Gaga's words of kindness.

Would someone explain to me on how this post is funny? @Adelita @Eddie

Cause it’s a bit exaggerated to say the OP is “tearing down black women”. We’re poking fun at a pretentious statement made by a woman we all actually respect here. Stop taking it so seriously, it’s a pop forum

Enjoy your WP :)

Let me try this. If this thread was about Katy Perry or Justin Timberlake or Ed Sheeran, would you jump straight into defensive mode and say I'm tearing down 'white people'? If the answer is no, then what made you think this was about race?

Maybe it's not that complicated as you thought?

Katy Perry doesn't have any grammys, Justin Timberlake & Ed Sheeran don't have 24 grammys.

Racism & misogyny are everywhere, even on pop forums.

What? You completely missed the point. I was trying to say that your 'defence' was selective in nature, you only choose people you wish to defend but you wouldn't defend everyone.

If I made the same thread on Katy, Timberlake and Sheeran, you wouldn't do the same for them because they're not black. In that case, the problem lies with the beholder, which is you.

No one but you guys made it about race, we were talking about she seemed to be flexing her grammy noms and you and the child made it all about her race :toofunny:

I didn't, I intentionally didn't answer to your question. Racists love to flip the table around and ask "what if it was a white person". All I know so far is that this thread is about someone complaining that a Black woman finds that losing 64 times a grammy is bad.

Because if she was a white man or if Gaga said this you'd agree with her.

Being nominated for a Grammy is not an ESTEEMED HONOR, especially when artists like Macklemore and Taylor Swift win over Kendrick Lamar :ladyhaha: She's saying the exact opposite of what you're trying to say. She's saying that if she cared that if you do it for the accolades you'll never find the strenght to keep going because rejection is a part of it.

Tnks for your comment !!

Uh no, if Gaga or Eminem or Adele said this i’d say the same thing — if gaga said this it would’ve been the new “100 people in a room” meme quote and people all over the forum would be saying “weird flex but go off” lmao. It’s a ridiculous flex for ANYONE to say, in my opinion.

Do you actually realize how insensitive it is to say "the tone police"? Oh you know what, never mind, I'm not here to educate a racist & a misogynist.

Exactly you'd be saying "weird flex but go off" but since it is Beyoncé who's saying this you're not happy.
