Why did I think this was about Bionicles and was seriously questioning the timeframe?

Oh man I have a love/hate relationship with this album. The ideas I had in my head before I listened to it were way better than what we got. Still, love the Sia ballads and some of the pop songs but I wish she has worked with Goldfrapp and Ladytron more, Birds of Prey is the best song on the album and had so much potential. Sadly she's a popstar and had to follow the label's advices and make it a little more commercial I guess.

Songs that I still love: Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer, Lift Me Up, You Lost Me, I Am.

Songs that I like a lot: Sex for Breakfast, Glam, Prima Donna, Elastic Love.

Guilty pleasure: My Girls, Woohoo, Not Myself Tonight.

Cringey songs: Vanity, Desnúdate, Bobblehead.

I think I'm gonna give it a listen tonight, it's been a while.

Justice for Kimono Girl. :bradley::pray:

I re-visit this album every so often to see if it really is ahead of its time or just a mixed bag. I still say it's a mixed bag. At the time, I actually ranked it higher and now I wonder what on earth I saw in some of those tracks I liked. After all this time, I'd say:

Best: Bionic, Woohoo, Sex For Breakfast, Lift Me Up, All I Need, I Am, You Lost Me, My Girls, Monday Morning, Birds Of Prey, Stronger Than Ever

Ok: Glam, Prima Donna, I Hate Boys

Worst: Not Myself Tonight, Elastic Love, Desnudate, Vanity, Bobblehead

I was the biggest fan at the time and was so disappointed that it wasn't as great as her previous albums. I don't think this style suited her and the album doesn't seem to have an identity and was meant to be kitsch or something. And she abandoned tracks from promising collabs and Not Myself Tonight was a last minute addition for the worst. I don't think this idea that it was ahead of its time is coming off. It still doesn't sound like anything around right now. But wow, Lotus really puts Bionic in the shade and makes you think all is forgotten. I'm glad she made a return to something much better with Liberation.

Easily one of the best pop albums of the past decade. So criminally underrated, and the gays should be ashamed for treating it as a joke and zipping it up looking for leaks from their favs.
