When quashing insurgents in Sudan in the earlier days of his imperial career, Churchill boasted of killing three "savages." Contemplating restive populations in northwest Asia, he infamously lamented the "squeamishness" of his colleagues, who were not in "favor of using poisoned gas against uncivilized tribes." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/02/03/the-dark-side-of-winston-churchills-legacy-no-one-should-forget/%3foutputType=amp In 1943, famine struck the state of Bengal in India, leading to an some three million deaths. But even as British officials telegrammed for aid, Churchill remained unmoved. Relief would do no good, he assessed, and it was Indians' fault for "breeding like rabbits." As the British secretary of state for India noted in his diaries: "I... couldn't help telling him that I didn't see much difference between his outlook and Hitler's... I am by no means sure whether on this subject of India he is really quite sane." German historian Jörg Friedrich has also controversially described the Allied bombing of cities like Dresden, Hamburg, and Cologne as a war crime for which Churchill has never stood trial. Friedrich says that the bombing campaign killed more than 635,000 civilians, including around 75,000 children—and many of the bombings were carried out on small towns of little strategic value. Friedrich is not alone in this opinion—German novelist Günter Grass believed that the firebombing of Dresden alone constituted a war crime. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/ae55v8/winston-churchill-racist-warmonger-sterilize-mentally-ill That's the problem with stuff like this. Check the thread again, and also do your own research I saw only the video in the OP and while I'm not familiar with all those things mentioned, there are some events that I know arent as black and white as that video likes to pretend. With a simple google search you can find articles that defend Churchill. It's important to mention that in this cancel culture, you can find reasons to cancel anyone. Gandhi is today a controversial figure. So let's be carefull because u can find reasons to cancel anyone, from Obama to Bernie.

You see a tweet and then pretend you know history. There were multiple factors for that famine, including a war with Hitler. But I guess it is easier to talk about famines from 1943 then about the fact that the same number of people die from hunger every year. All the world leaders who choose to ignore this fact are as guilty as Churchill? You are as guilty as him for voting for these politicians? Shame. But obviously, as I'm replying to a topic, my own opinion will be felt, as is everyone else's. And I never said people shouldn't protest, just that they should do it peacefully and ideally, once lockdown is over. And I can't contain all my thoughts in one post. Whenever I've tried to show how much of a non-racist I am, it just makes people worse. I can't seem to get adequately transmit my anti-racism through a screen. You don't see what I do in my day-to-day life. You have no right to make that judgement. Just this morning, I was having discussions about race with my parents. Oh, but, you can't see that, therefore, it never happened, right? If anyone needs to the evaluating, it's you, for putting such high standards on people which you can't even police because you can't see what they are and aren't engaging in. You referred to yourself ten times in two paragraphs whilst trying to make the point that you don't make it about yourself

People were all about respecting social distancing until now. It never stops being a pertinent issue no matter what's going on. That's the only reason that I'm saying people shouldn't protest. Speculate all you want with whatever made-up reasons you want. You can't prove what's going on in my head. I don't say this stuff to distract from my "bigotry." I bring it up because you incorrectly tell falsehoods about me. I'm one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. It's a shame that you'll never see or appreciate that. People in real life know me better than anyone online and my true self comes off there. Online, everyone wants to argue, so everything's amplified. It doesn't matter how many times I try to convince you I'm a good person, you just want me to be the villain no matter what. But you always quote me whenever you want to argue. You sure follow me around for someone who couldn't care less. Actually, I got a lot of support this last week as well, of course you conveniently fail to notice that. Luckily, my real friends here see the real me, they took the time to get to know me, unlike you, and they say that I shouldn't waste my time on people trying to bring me down. I care what others think of me too much, I guess. I just speak my truth and I've been nothing but honest. Contrary to what you may think, I'm not fake. If I were truly racist, you'd know and I wouldn't be here, considering this forum is against everything racists stand for. Do you really think racists hang around on Gaga forums day and night for the last decade? I've long decided it doesn't matter what I say to try to convince you, though, nothing will work. And you can't see how I respond to race in day-to-day life, so your accusations have always been without proof. I didn't say a few more years, just until the virus is over. Murder and brutality would continue whether they were protesting or not, it'll always be there. Again, let's be realistic. Prejudice never stops, not as long as humans have free will. It's just about alleviating it. You're acting is if we can literally stop it with protests. Humanity will never be a utopia. I show care by not wanting people to get hurt. Pacifism is a crime now, apparently. I never denied that. I said I blamed them too. I'm on your side. What are you not understanding.

I don't italicise all the times you've used the word "I" in your posts. Obsessive and and nit picking doesn't even begin to cover it. You'd think anyone who did that to you was mental. Because we're submitting our thoughts and when that happens, those words will be prevalent especially because you have to make it clear when stuff is opinion based that this is your opinion and that's not the same as fact. And that it's just a suggestion, not a command or you're claiming to have all the right answers and everyone else is wrong. Responding to topics with our personal beliefs is the whole point of a forum. Literally everyone else does it too. I don't see you holding them to the same high standard.
