Coming for that second week at #1

If streams stay solid enough... With this rapid rise on radio we very well could be seeing the song go back to #1 at some point definitely

#49 may seem poor but ROM debut very low on radio (typical for a non lead single tho) and it's rate of increase has been phenomenal.

Literally a week ago it was in the bubbling under 100 section and since then it's already climbed like 60 ranks in a week and gained over 20M AI. That's astounding! :applause:

Isn't that gain as big as Say So when it was rising straight to the top while Stupid Love lingered in the bootyom??

I don't know I didn't follow say so lol

I do know this rate of increase is rare tho and usually means a mega radio hit. Songs rarely increase this quickly consistently unless they are going at least top 5 on radio.

Hopefully if maintains this rate of increase a while longer it will prove it wasn't just a fluke or aberation in the songs climb and that it will indeed be a radio smash!

Sometimes a song may surge for several days if a lot of big radio stations just happened to add spins that week for the song at once and what seems like a promising hit may start to plateau and fail to meet expectations

But it's a very good sign. If this continues as it's been going since release, a radio hit is basically confirmed. It's already gained like 60 ranks and over 20M AI in the last week alone!

In terms of sales and streaming  ROM is doing fine and with that radio boost a second week at number one is realistic.

How come songs take so long to rise on US radio? In the UK it's so much quicker for some reason..

Let's just wait a bit longer before we confirm it before getting disappointed

As I said before a wild surge or aberation can happen for a few days or a week if a lot of big stations by coincidence all added the song at once or increased spins and then next thing u know u get an unexpected slowdown or plateau

But the increase has been strong since it came out and consistent so, that's a very good sign. If it keeps this up it's fair to say it wasn't just a fluke and it is indeed gonna be a bit hit

Rain On Me has absolutely 0 chance to go back to #1 this week, come on guys.

And I'm afraid that it will also be impossible in the next few weeks since ROCKSTAR is coming like a dark horse with way more streams and AI audience :smh:

It's the same here in Canada. Gradual slow increase. Nothing reaches its peak on radio until months of climbing :ladyhaha:

I think it has to do with the size tbh. Britain has a lot of its population concentrated in a few areas where if stations pick up a new song fast in that area it's a big part of the radio market instantly

But Canada & USA are large in area. The radio stations I have access to cannot be heard in Montreal or Vancouver. There's a lot of stations throughout the country that matter (same in USA to an even bigger degree)

Since stations don't necessarily add new singles to play right away or power rotation the odds that all stations across country would do it right away and make it debut high are next to none so it ends up climbing slower as stations pick it up around the country

The only time songs climb quickly is an anticipated lead single from a big artist that most stations add quickly. Those don't take so long to climb

But unless it's an anticipated lead, songs always take several weeks or months to climb because we don't have just a few stations control the market that will make the song surge if they pick it up right away

When they said a second week at #1 I don't think they meant this week tho. They meant later, eventually if streams hold while the song climbs on radio :emma:

It's because in the UK, Radio doesn't play a part in the charts, so it's used less like a power play if your song is on the radio. It's more down to "what do people want to hear" rather than "What do people want to hear that is acceptable to play at this moment in time that will have an impact on the charts".
