Arianas sweet airy vocals pair perfectly with Gaga’s growling husky tones. Demi and Gaga are both powerhouses and would sound like they’re competing. I think it’d been too much.

the idea that demi is a great vocalist is a myth. this is facts. her tone is unpleasant, and she is more often than not off key, and struggles to reach the notes she tries to tackle. to me, she might be one of the worst singer out there. Be able to belt out some high, powerful notes, does not make you a good vocalist. Her last grammy performance is painful to HEAR. Periodt.

But her National Anthem was quite decent IMO

No. Rain on Me featuring Utada Hikaru is where it's at.

Demi is too pretentious to be on a Bop like ROM. Also she'll ruin it with screaming , Ariana is the right choice

I love how Ariana delivers her lines in ROM, even more in the pre-chorus when she sings "fast" :

I can feel it on my skin
(It's coming down on me)
Teardrops on my face
(Water like misery)
Let it wash away my sins
(It's coming down on me)
Let it wash away

She really adds something to the song and I don't see anyone else than her doing it, she fits perfectly :firega:

My crown is black, like the soul of fame

Economy

No cuz it's a song about struggles and she's played that card way too many times already. Would seem disengenuous :enigma:

Oh, no! I think Demi is talented, but she has yet do lapidate her voice. She seems to think like louder is always better, and as a result to me she sounds like she's screaming in most of her discography. Her best moments are ion lower and less pretentious registers, like in Cool for the Summer, which is in my opinion her best single ever, and THE best pop song that year.
