Idk, I’ve been re-listening to ARTPOP and BTW and I swear, Chromatica just feels so fresh and young and it really encapsulates Gaga’s newfound maturity and other positive changes around her life. It’s just so full of so much positive energy that it’s so healing in some way. It’s like BTW being re-birthed into this new baby that’s made for the new decade :vegas:

Its one of her worst albums... half of the album is absolutely gold. The rest of the album sounds like Disney songs, or really cringeworthy hot mess :selena:  sorry, if only half of the album is good then to me it can't be her best

That’s pretty harsh saying worst :triggered:

I understand that some of it doesn’t stay on the same level as Alice & ROM which are the 2 best songs she’s done in a long time & they aren’t all up to the standard. I can’t understand Fun Tonight, the song itself is terrible but the lyrics hold dear to her she could rework it & plastic doll wtf why include that

I will say half of ARTPOP was pure magic & the other half wasn’t :lolly:so similar feel

This album is a grower for sure.

Honestly, still sounds great. The only thing I changed is that it is tied with BTW than surpassing it for me now. I suppose that is final.

Understandable, however I just can’t shake ‘Alice’ that song takes me to another place like the masterpiece of BTW. When she sings “set me free” I get shivers. She set the bar high with this song. So it’s truly mind boggling that she puts a song like fun tonight/ plastic doll on it :fail:

Alice is a masterpiece... ugh it's so good. :legend:

I do tho. The pop landscape is so boring an uninspired without her :vegas:

I don’t think you understood what I meant. I didn’t say her music isn’t interesting, because it is. However, her music (like the sound design) has never been truly ground-breaking or original or “never been heard before”. The other artists I named actually do have that kind of music, at least at one point in their careers.

Candy Gaga

1. Chromatica = Born This Way

BTW is SynthPop perfection with fantastic production and Chromatica has 1 of my favourite genres of all time as a production theme which is Euro-Dance.

2. The Fame

3. The Fame Monster

4. Joanne

5. A Star Is Born

6. ARTPOP

That goes for all of her albums. You don’t listen to Gaga for musical originality—you listen to people like Boys Noize or Washed Out or Miss Kittin.

I don't agree with 'You don't listen to Gaga for musical originality'. She was there at one point giving a new sound to pop from BTW up till ARTPOP. It has her stamp all over and that's why she stood out. Chromatica could have been recorded by any popstar in the industry. Her voice is what makes it Gaga now and not the music.
