Blastertoyo 22,734
Toy company Lego requested Tuesday that marketing affiliates immediately cease advertising several of its law enforcement-related products and to even pull them from websites "in light of recent events," as protests rage nationwide over the death of George Floyd. In an email obtained by The Toybook trade magazine sent on behalf of the Danish company, affiliated partners were notified that "In light of recent events, LEGO has requested the below products to be removed from sites and any marketing ASAP." To be clear, the items are still available for purchase. It was only promotions for such products that were stopped. More than 30 products were on the list, with a large majority containing the word "Police" in the name, including the Police Station, Police Patrol Car, Police Helicopter Transport, and even the Donut Shop Opening — which, according to The Toybook, "includes Police Officer 'Duke DeTain' and 'Crook' minifigures." https://www.theblaze.com/news/lego-stops-marketing-police-themed-toys-in-light-of-recent-events please enlighten me to death

Putting that stuff on ads is gonna be triggering to people right now I totally understand why they did it, it is triggering. When looking at these toys, and state of things, I just wonder about what are the responsible people that command and direct the law enforcement in US doing.... completely destroying the confidence that children should have on the police, someone that's supposes to help and protect them. They will grow up afraid of them, rightfully, and not having any respect for them. Something needs to change asap, and drastically. Here every summer we take the kids to the police station and the fire station, and kids love it, it's one of best days they have. Last year they gave each kid a little police car made of cardboard, the kids were beaming. They often go to school, and the summer camp talk to the kids. Anyways I just got caught up thinking about how little kids are taking this in America, and how they will be afraid of the police when that shouldn't happen. Here things aren't this way...sure sometimes the police might have to use force to disperse people when there is big soccer games...but can't even remember the last time the police actually had shot or killed a person.
