I think everybody should be aware that Gaga's singles and albums are rarely no-brainers which can hold up themselves without promotion from Gaga's side. The more Gaga is involved in the promotion the more stability is shown in her stats with singles and her albums. 

The promotion from Interscope can just do as much but the GP wants to see her perform....

Lover (song) was released like a week before the album and had a decent debut but then free fell on the charts, I really thought radio would pick it up by the end of the year and it would become the Delicate of Lover.
