Nah, for me FT is definitely not in the bottom two lol. I've also seen a lot of people praise it here. I think you're using the word unanimous rather loosely. But yeah, they're definitely not top 2. At least not for me.

Tbh I’m just pressed at the lack of Plastic Doll appreciation :bradley:

Not the essential tracks being SL and FT the literal unanimous bottom two of the album :toofunny:

I quite love SL and FT!! But Babylon is the best song on Chromatica and one of the best in her discography

ESPECIALLY for an artist as campy as Gaga, and especially since the material is unabashedly dance pop. Carly Rae Jepsen is the only other Pop artist I can think of who's put out a pure Dance Pop album of recent memory that was reviewed so highly (w/ Dedicated, score of 79).

THIS, PD was one of my faves upon first listen and it still is. From the Barbie sounding verses to the heartbreaking choruses! And don't forget the sad bridge with the already iconic scream

How does Metacritic work? Is there a deadline for reviews or do critics give out reviews anytime they want?

And lets not forget Gaga has to go through so many hurdles in every review. Reviewers say they want more craziness from her, some say they want less, some say she is too electronic and experimental while others say she isn't. Then there are the constant comparisons to Madonna. Critics also love to talk more about her public persona sometimes and that can be annoying. The critics are so much harder on Gaga then they are with other artists. Chromatica would be a 90  on Metacritic if Dua, Ariana, Charli xcx, or Billie Eilish made an album like this :toofunny:

Whose that girl Malibu Gaga / Looks so sad what is this saga? Is the album’s best lyric. Come back to me when Shakespeare matches this level of greatness.

Her vocal delivery on that line alone is Grammy worthy

Lord Temptation

I feel the late reviewers will just echo the same sentiment as the first wave, as mass media tends to be an echo chamber with the views of the big and  “important” publications being more or less supported by the smaller and less important ones. So hopefully this means we only keep getting 81s (or higher), now that the smaller outlets know that it’s green lit for them to give Gaga acclaim :staymad:
