@Luc @Florin I get what ur saying. There are situations in which even if police are being reasonable and not brutal they may be forced to shoot and if it is a situation were it's actually a MUST, then better somewhere like the leg than an abdomen or chest

 

But this is like the absolute worst time ever to make a comment like this because people are obviously going to take it as a comment justifying police brutality which might not be what he meant (I don't know) but it's obvious people will take it that way.

 

Unlike Trump, I don't think every problematic thing Biden says necessarily is coming from a place of evil or bad intentions (maybe a few), but God he's so bad with words and timing all the time. He never ever thinks before he speaks and that's not helpful in an election

I agree with Biden in the context of using lethal shots vs non lethal. If it's an unarmed person, why would it come to that. Not sure what he's thinking. Sounds like the old wild west to me. We need some young leaders who don't think this old fashioned way.

What an insensitive and out of touch response to rampant police brutality. His whole campaign is insensitive and out of touch though so I’m not even surprised the Dems have bungled another election against Trump.

I- his mind really is going, isn’t it? Unarmed people don’t carry knives 

Not to mention that shooting a person with a knife in the leg is not going to immediately stop them like Biden has apparently seen on TV. And there is a major artery in the leg too, so there’s still risk of death. And officers shoot for the torso because it’s a) the quickest way to stop an attacker, b) the largest surface area of the body, and therefore c) presents the least risk of harm to surrounding citizens. 
 

If someone with a knife is charging toward an officer, there is little chance that a shot to the leg would even be accurate enough to hit, let alone stop, the attacker.
