A music lover would never rely on streaming lmao that's quite basic. A music lover OWNS music, not services.

i own music. i own plenty of physical copies. do i own every single album that i'd ever want to listen to? of course not, that's ridiculous. i made my point simple, you're just being pedantic and picky because you disagree with my point. instead of actually discussing the issue, you're calling me basic and questioning every little detail.

can i also remind you that plenty of music lovers can't actually afford to buy physical copies? physical copies are expensive.

The fact that people are worrying about streams and actually thinking on how this is not helping at all. It worries me sometimes. :triggered:

This.

Like people are tragically dying because of racism and white culture in the US, and others worry about streams :air:

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.

If this is true, I do expect it to be US-only. Otherwise, it would be pretty ridiculous.

I guess you live in another planet where racisim doesn't exist, are y'all white, blond and skinny over there?

This seems so performative like just donate the millions that we know you have and keep it pushing. Plus shutting down just silences black artists? I really struggle to see what this is meant to do.

There's no even full info out there yet, you don't know what's going to happen. They said that possibilities to listen to music from black artists will be there. But they are not sure yet.

Gurl GGD has members from Outside US as well. And u cant force all Non-US members to care about something thats happening in America. I never saw Americans tweet about miserable conditions of migrants due to corona virus in India in Last 2 months. Every country has its problems but this is a global forum. Im not saying im not hurt by what happens to black people but u cant force the rest of the world to not talk about other things they enjoy.

Shut up, this problem is occuring EVERYWHERE. Are you living under a rock? "Only in America" :smh:

This is just stupid

SO stupid, just... make playlists of black artists, do ads before songs that show support for the black community

Use big pictures and highlight the support, but shut it down? Stupid

They might do that, but you don't know yet.

yeah because racism only happens in the US :ohwell:

That's absolutely not what I meant.... There have been ongoing tragedies in other countries and Spotify never shut down in solidarity.

Idk how it shows solidarity. It seems like a publicity stunt to make them seem 'woke'

Keeping it up or shutting it down will make no difference except piss people off who want to listen to music.

That’s exactly how people view the riots. Until you and your people have been oppressed and murdered for 300+ years, you really can’t say what the best way to protest is. I’m sure there are plenty of black folks who support this. And if they support it, I do too.

I guess you listen to 458292 songs in a day then.

Regardless of what people’s intentions are, this is a bit uncalled for and very snobbish. “You’re not a real music fan if you don’t buy albums” that can often be expensive or difficult to access + may not allow you to discover new independent artists. Stop being so pretentious

It's impossible. Not happening. I'd sue them and many others would do the same.

Everyday police kills black kids in brazilian favelas. A country where violence and racism are much worse than USA. Do you think the world watch over us? Spotify never stopped for us
