Alice, at least with the people I've talked too, has been very well received in the GP

Eh, we'll just leave it at we disagree.

I think you could argue 911 is the best choice based on the song performance on streaming services. Alice is at a disadvantage because it's the first song on the album and is likely to be played once anyway. That said, Alice is doing really well. Sour Candy is doing the best but based off of the fact it was released first/pre-album, I think we need to wait it out to see if the hype around it fades.

At any rate almost all of the songs could be singles. It's not like BTW era when we had to ask ourselves which 4-5 minute song could be a single with a cute radio edit. There are some that I think would do better (Plastic Doll seems to come to mind here).

I think that Alice is a solid choice despite the unusual structure.

Alice, SFA, Free Woman and Enigma as a wild card :lolly: reviewers seems to love Enigma and it's not generic like others + showcases her vocal talent that everyone fell in love with ASIB :ally: Don't sleep on the enigma! :grr:

No! It's another Gaga song with distorted vocals which she's shown too much on Joanne and ASIB. She can hit all those notes with a clear voice and classic approach (Like Mariah/Celine/Whitney). 1000 Doves is much better vocally but ROM still remains unsurpassed in terms of vocals on Chromatica

I'm always surprised by Gaga's single choices actually. She's never very risky. Always goes for what's generically more dancy pop. I mean, looking back, even Rihanna released a single like "Love on the Brain", which would never be perceived as radio-friendly, and it was a huge hit for her, also critically.

At the end of the day, who cares about the single. It could be any song, each one has its own chance for success, sometimes depends on the way it is carried on. And if Chromatica has indeed some sort of concept, she should go for that and not success chances.

Tea. I guess I understand her on choosing the safest songs as singles back in her first albums. It was necessary back then, but now, not really. She's come to a point in her career, similar to Riri and Beyoncé, that people will more or less pay attention and stream her regardless of what she puts out. Unless she puts out really uninteresting bland stuff and gets pretentious and overall annoying (poor Katy), she's gonna be fine. She doesn't have to prove herself anymore, so she might as well go a bit crazy here and there

Distorted vocals? Bih where? Did you listen to the song properly? It is absolutely the best showcase of her vocals on this album.

1000 doves has a beautiful but generic chorus and people would nope out on the first 20 seconds imo :neyde:

It’s weird but I really see Enigma, or Free Woman. 911 would be cute if a bit corny. Babylon should be a single too, with a high-concept video.

SFA doesn’t need to be a single but it needs to have a smashing Grammy performance. Like all stops level.

This is kind of why I would think plastic doll would be a single even though it's one of the longer songs? It's very CRJ, very 80s Gaga and in general is pretty safe? But at the same time people tend to not vibe with it for some reason. Like people generally get the meaning of the song, like the meaning of the song and like some elements of the sound but then complain about something being missing or not quite connecting.

Not sure what other song would be classified as 'safe.' I feel like there's something you could nit pick about all of the songs in terms of a commercial release.

LOVE JUNKIE

inb4 we don't get another single. Sour Candy is a psuedo-single at this point so it just depends on if they want to make it official. Let's not forget Joanne only had two singles until over a year after its release. It's not uncommon for Pop artists to only push two singles these days and then drop the album and let the streams pour in. The only song I could really see as the next single would be SFA just because the Elton John angle to try to hook the GP. But who knows if her + her team can put something special together and push the single hard enough any song on the album could do at least decently.

This album isn't really that GP/radio friendly so unless we get a radio friendly remix or feature I have a hard time seeing the point in pushing a song heavily to radio.

I think Free Woman is the only choice at this point... maybe 1000 Doves (piano demo)?

Judging on the response to Sour Candy, I think Gaga needs to keep the tempo turned up & Enigma is perfect for that. Radio friendly track about love which everyone can relate to, extremely satisfying melody & production with great lyrics. Not to mention, we aren’t picking the next single 😂 Gaga & her team will be so Chile
