Now let’s be kinder to cops. When people chant “kill cops”, they’re talking about my dad. It breaks my heart and I am anxiety ridden for his life right now.

This. And the unfortunate truth is that the system is far too broken, corrupt, racist and violent for individual cops to change it from the inside.

It’s true the American police force is 1000% rooted in racism. I’m not sure the solution is to eliminate it. There are many, many great cops, for sure. We just need to make it so there are only great, anti-racist cops and policies.

Change his profession? So only racist white guys should be cops in America? I'm confused. A big problem is that more people of color, especially black people don't want to be cops. Making these police forces more diverse and filling the positions with non racist individuals is a step in the right direction to end these senseless killings.
