Where have you been then? You don’t think black people have been fighting for their rights to still get s*** on everyday by a system that basically boxes people who look a certain way into certain categories?

Where have I been? I’m not American nor have I ever been but seeing black people getting killed by police officers who are supposed to keep them safe, and treated with a shoot first ask later while white shooters are politely escorted to police cars and called “mentally unstable”, that’s not gonna be fixed by voting or the kindness BS

That'll do it, Gaga. Ready for a kindness revolution. Sunshine and rainbows.

Can you pls f***ing exit. Not only is this factually untrue, but it’s so laced in ignorance and racism. I’m sorry that after the murder of thousands and thousands of black lives and being told to shut up and sit down over and over and over and over again that people feel the need to make their ABSOLUTELY JUSTIFIED ANGER AND PAIN FELT.

No one wants violence. Let’s stop killing black people because they’re black and then we’ll worry about the week of rioting that seems to have really bothered you.

To be fair, we don’t know that she isn’t doing that. I think she probably makes a lot of private donations. However, it would be nice to see a public one happen. I think she recognizes that a lot of her fans (and people in the general public) don’t have a lot of money, and there are other ways allies can show up in non-monetary ways.

I hope she is! But visibility is important and specially as she has a huge platform she could be sharing names of orgs that need donations. Not all her fans can donate, but maybe those who can will if they see her doing it. Every little bit helps.

Your country either has a racist majority or a racist authority that outweighs the non racist majority. Own it and do something about it. Deflecting won’t help.

Not sure where you got that I'm deflecting? :laughga:

The second one is right. We have a racist establishment. A lot of people are ignorantly comfortable in it because it doesn't harm them but to say they directly support it is a stretch.

Those people need to he educated is all. There's lots of potential allies here. The way you're painting it is saying the US is a lost cause when it's not. It just needs a real ass wake up call. Maybe this'll be it? Who knows.

She probably feels like it's not her place to. At least she's a vocal ally, that's honestly all I ask of her

I'm not saying she hasn't done anything, but writing a song and making a wall of text on Twitter accomplishes nothing, if not very little.  I respect her efforts, but it is minuscule what she did for gay people back in 2009 to now.  As a white woman, she's going to have much bigger influence than say, if Beyonce, D̶o̶j̶a̶ ̶C̶a̶t̶, or Rihanna spoke out.  Us gays should pay it forward and remember that the message born this way doesn't apply just to gay people.

This was more of a general message than to you.  I love you PartySick :kara:

"Bobby, they're asking for the manager"

We're about one night away from that being the standard response from celebs who are down af.

Yeah Chrissy Teigen is so down for tweeting that from her mansion, completely safe from harm. It's always the people who aren't risking anything who encourage others to place themselves in harms way. This isn't a social media clout game.

Babble on...

Please cite your sources. Instead of speaking out about racism towards whites (which is not a systematic issue at all), maybe you could speak up for all of the black people in this country who are not treated equally. I bet if you felt you were set up to fail for no other reason than the way you look, you'd get angry too.

If we strived as a country for our system to be kind to every person no matter black white or beige, we would go far.

Give kindness a chance:heart:

I’m not saying the US is a lost cause but talking about voting out, kindness and peace and obedience isn’t gonna help anyone here because the only ones who will exhibit this kindness and peace and obedience are the victims and that will further give the authorities more power. Give it one week, two max and everyone will be back home and this will be just a story and the issue will remain the same.

I've seen a lot of people mention putting together a 'go' bag with important items and some food incase you have to leave suddenly, and I think that's probably a good idea rn! I hope you're able to stay safe

Yeah I just got dressed just in case. They are shooting cops, shooting at buildings. They've destroyed everything around my building. Raging fires literally everywhere.

ear condom

you can see through the extreme meticulousness that she used in her words that she does not feel very comfortable and legitimate to speak about this problem. Don't expect her to defend BLM with the same force as she does with gay rights, because while everyone is going to praise her if she speaks about LGBT rights, if she talks about racism it will be problematic, if she doesn't talk about it it will be problematic and people will fall on her no matter what.

She tweeted earlier today that she is donating $200,000 for protester bailouts. That’s big.
