This is what happens when people spectate from the comfort of their homes. They watch one video of an inevitable looting during unrest and they make up their minds about the entire movement. The majority of protesters do not want the looting and violence. We want govt and police departments to actually to take us seriously. Instead we are met with tear gas and riot gear. Violently racist people have been attacking and injuring protesters all weekend, you can tell a lot of people in this thread were just looking for an excuse to blame the people protesting for something so they can dismiss them outright. And about the looting, the president of Target himself issued a statement today defend and siding with the protesters and saying Target can easily rebuild. Does he not have a business owner's insurance policy to protect him and his business from rioting and looting? Also, why is he defending his store with a sword in the middle of the street? No, these people brutally attacking him are not in the right, not in the least, but neither is he. He was swinging his sword at skateboarders thinking they were gonna rob him. If you're going to protect your store, do it from inside, don't chase people who haven't done anything yet. I get that its scary, but don't be stupid about it.
