Lots of short Chromatica teasers with clips from different songs, and then I guess going from whichever song gets the best fan response, pushing that one as the lead single (could be dropped the day before the album like Sour Candy to create even more hype). Babylon stands for a lot more than just the city state and empire in a historical sense. it's just done in a campy, that's it. Don't underestimate / discredit her artistry. It sounds loud and rough with a twist of 80's like most of BTW. The rest of the album has 90's dance/house vibes. So no, I don't think it should've been lead. The point of “insult” isn’t like insulting native Americans today, but like making a joke out of a rather deeper concept. I don’t get where you got the idea that something has to exist in this day to be respect. I mean do we piss on people’s graves because they don’t exist? It's about gossip so babble on isn't only appropriate but it sounds cute. Not all songs have to have deep dark depressing meanings.
