I’m a bit underwhelmed by some of the productions that sounds more like 2010’s house/EDM than 90’s house/Eurodance. I know a lot of the songs are growers tho, like Fun Tonight; I’m working on trying to like the songs more. But some of them are let downs. I prefered Free Woman’s demo (and I’m Usually not the type of person that prefers demo over official songs) ROM is also one of the songs I had high expectations for, but I think this song lacks something, maybe production wise. Also, I wish we had more of Boys Noize production and LESS (a lot less) of Axwell’s who made the record a bit aged in my opinion. BUT there’s also positive things to say about that record. gaga’s vocals have never been more impressive. It’s truly one of her best album vocally (if not the best) I also think lyrically she’s being VERY honest about her experiences of life. (fun tonight being one of the songs I’m talking about) she’s is not using metaphors or anything like she did in « Judas » or other past songs. She is talking about what she wants, honestly and unapologetically. Transitions are this Album Strenght, especially between the interludes and the songs. and I like the drum build ups used in a lot of songs in this album. This element of production bring me back to 90’s dance music. Thanks to you and everyone else who are sharing their thoughts and opinions on the album in such a constructive way! Just like her previous ones, this album isn't for everyone, and I hope you're still going to be around to see what she has in store for the eras to come. One thing I wanted to point out: I'm pretty sure Axwell only has production credits on SFA? (I will agree that it is also, probably, my least favorite on the record.) Or, at least, I can't make out his style in any of the other songs.

I've come to terms that I only really like half of the songs on there That's how I felt when Femme Fatale was released, I had to force myself to like it. 21 hours ago, HauntingHollow said: me too, somehow it feels like it has no character, usually there is something very distinct about her albums and the songs withing are always varied, but Chromatica sounds like the whole alum could be one song, idk how to explain EDIT: oh yeah, i wish the album wasnt so cohesive, i will never understand why cohensivness is a thing, i want an album to give me a multitude of new sounds, ideas, feelings.... making the songs sound the same is boring and bland and unispired..... give me randoms sounds, random beats, random vocals, mix 50 genres together, do something exciting.... in Chromatica half the songs sound the same, have the same colour, same vibe, same tone, same vocals, i feel so tired listening to Replay because Enigma sounds the same and so does Alice.... it just seems to me like most of the songs have the same instrumentals and do nothing new. Ugh.... But then there is SFA, 1000 Doves, Babylon, Stupid Love, Rain on Me, Love Me Right, Sour Candy.... these songs sound like they have an identity and thats why i like em the most. First, the positive: I think it is good that Lady Gaga is not following trends and didn't make a generic 2020-type album. Also I think that none of the songs is very bad. The whole album has somehow a New York Latenight 1980s vibe and Lady Gaga is clearly influenced by her early days. I disagree with previous posters who claim that is is EDM-like, it shares similarities with dance, but this is not typical EDM. However, in my opinion Chromatica is much worse than her previous albums and I totally agree with HauntingHollow. The album sounds much the same, they mostly have the same New York disco night sound feeling attached to it. There is no big variety. I think Lady Gaga just wanted to have a good lead single and the rest was less important because in my opinion the lead single is the best and the rest, apart from 911, sounds like filler songs like 15 years ago when artists released an album just to support the single. The songs aren't very melodic either, the beat does not change, it stays always the same. For people who like this default beat, of course Chormatica will be great. However, I did not have very high expectations, I did not expect Lady Gaga to make a great album again, so I acutally am not disappointed. I'm looking gorgeous tonight

I personally love her Theatrical side more. I love her Gothic Glam Rock music thats very pop at the same time. Im a huge Britney Spears fan, but I hated Femme Fetale because it was too EDM for me.
