Tbh I felt the same way about Joanne :selena: It wasn't the type of music that I really enjoy listening that much. It did grew on me but even now I don't listen to it nearly as much as the other albums. Like someone said previously, Gaga changes her style of making music every era so maybe this one just wasn't for you and that's completely okay.

i was born this way, baby

You literally like the weakest tracks of the album. SFA, Alice, Replay, 911 all have better quality. ROM and Sour Candy were made to top the charts and to fit Ariana and Black Pink styles. You can notice Sour Candy is basically a half kpop song, the BP part is all kpop. And ROM also reminds me of Ariana. The ones I listed above as being better, are really Gaga style we know from a long time. So, maybe you lost some interest in her?

I enjoyed SFA, but I imagined its ending to be different (sth like Delerium & Sarah McLachlan - Silence) and lyrics could be so much better (the "sine" idea is cool). 911's production is so good, but then again lyrics are not it (I get it's personal for Gags, but oh well) and there something that bothers me with Replay and Alice (in the first it's lyrics, in the latter production).

I didn't lost interest in her. I just wanted something more creative, but I get it - she's an artist and wanted to make a dance/house upbeat album.

I forgot about Enigma. I love this track. Love, love it.

I think we're ALL getting older :ally: and it sounds fresh, exciting, and wonderful to me. Maybe you've just grown into a different taste of music

Imo I thought there was some of her greatest tracks ever like SFA, Babylon,Replay or ROM but the rest was a tad to "typical house" for me. I prefer gaga's "messy" albums that goes every directions than "cohesive" ones that stay the same all along.

How did you listen?

I love it but I think its mixed very strangely. I have to have it loud in my car or headphones (Bose, decent headphones) and I notched the bass up 2 points. It increased likeability alot.

Agreed. My headphones provide a much better listening experience for me. My car or phone speakers  don't do the album justice.

I still think BTW is her greatest album ever. And ARTPOP holds the second spot.

The two will be competing for her most acclaimed posthumous work of art status.

I personally love it although there's some tracks I love more than others

My favs:

- Free Woman

- Rain On Me

- Sour Candy

- Stupid Love

- Sine From Above (not that random ending tho) :neyde:

- 911

The rest of the songs like plastic doll, replay, fun tonight and the album version of Babylon I'm gonna have to see if they grow on me tbh

I think Chromatica is a great album but it is not a masterpiece, I do wish some songs were more experimental and I found the song structures to be the same in most songs. Almost all had some beat drop with EDM/House influences attached. Chromatica was a very strategic release from her team to get Gaga back in the public sphere of pop culture and they succeeded at that. I would give it a 7.5/10.

911, Sine from Above, Fun Tonight, Free Woman and Replay are definitely my new favourite songs from Gaga though :golfclap:

It's okay to not love the album, I think i'm pretending to like Chromatica a lot more than I actually do. I've come to terms that I only really like half of the songs on there :noparty:

I don’t wanna be shady but I think that’s the case for a lot of people here. I don’t wanna imply that there aren’t people who genuinely love the record, but there’s a lot of hostility towards people not liking the album that in my opinion can only come from insecurity about something.

Snarky comments and mentioning how much the album is selling will not make people who are disappointed with the album like it more.

I think some of us are getting older. I’m a trans woman now who is straight, I guess you could say I’m no longer the 15 year old boy that I was. This isn’t a master piece it’s just a good pop album.

For people that don't understand that SFA's production is not really that good - this is how you produce and deal with a song with Elton John in it, this is a masterpiece that SFA should've been:

The song is so perfect for Gaga's vocals, too. Jfc, just imagine  :diane:

Another oldie here and I fu***ng love it! I wanna dance the whole album till I pass out :gaysia:

It's just not your cup of tea, wait for the next era. After ARTPOP nothing really got me excited but Chromatica is becoming my second fav album after BTW :diane:
