magicalgaga 783
There's definitely a lot of 90's influence maybe because of the concept value or for nostalgia. Either way, I can see why the sound could feel a bit dated to some people. I have found very many personal and Gaga-like aspects in the production and sound tho! Maybe you just need to give it a few tries. Many people have already said that Chromatica is a grower and I have to agree on that notion. i was born this way, baby
elijahfan 26,199
It wouldn't have sounded revolutionary if it had come out at a time when this sound was saturating the radio You're entitled to your (wrong) opinions, but make it make sense.

PinkJelly 1,769
Sorry that you didn’t enjoy the album, it took me two or three listens in full to really appreciate it so I would give it another listen or two before writing it off completely First listen I thought some of the tracks sounded too alike but I’m on my 7th/8th listen in album order and I really love it. And some of you here should practice what Gaga preaches, not big, clever or Kindness Punk of you to slam someone for having an opinion different to yours
Parsakaali 268
Its clearly inspired by the 90's with the visuals especially and the sudden low voices in songs. My sister is a huge 90's music fan and is really digging this album because it reminds her of 90's hits.

People are literally creaming their panties over this album. Have you seen how hard it's slaying the charts? Also, "dated" is such a silly word. People literally release jazz albums, or motown records... music is timeless, stop insulting it by relegating it to a specific era it apparently can't get out of. Like, if this album had been released 20 to 25 years ago, it would have been considered revolutionary, genius, a total hit, completely sick AF. People would be creaming their panties if this had come out in 1998. At moments it reminds me of Deee-Lite, other moments has strange 90s trip-hop / portishead vibes, and is completely infused with 90s Diva House vibes. It just sounds so dated. Pretty bummed that this is her response to Joanne & ASIB albums. I can't get into it. I'm glad you guys are all super stoked. Rage it. Enjoy it. But I think I will have to give this album a hard pass. It is "dated", but very intentionally, just look at all the pics in the album. 90's music is really trendy these days and there is plenty of people sampling them. The great this is that gaga took influence from it, but make it her own.
