You guys are talking about how the most commercially successful album typically wins, when this year has like 0 blockbuster albums. Harry Styles and Lady Gaga will have decently big opening numbers based on tour bundles for concerts that are postponed indefinitely. Meanwhile, ‘Don’t Start Now’ is Platinum and still in the Top 10 + rising after several weeks. Ed Sheeran is not here. Taylor Swift is not here. Adele is not here. Ariana Grande is not here. So it’s going to be Harry Styles who owns 0 Grammys and was snubbed for his first album? Or Post Malone who has demonstrated no support among the pop committee thus far? Lady Gaga makes sense, but let’s first see if ‘Rain of Me’ spends 4 months in the Top 10 as DSN has. She always sells albums anyways and judging on the sound of this one, it’s difficult to see if it’ll be an event beyond her fanbase.
