Do they have no artistry? If you’re referring to anything on the charts right now. No. No artistry. If we’re referring to songs that were short to fit on vinyl back in the 50s/60s, there was some substance. But I’m judging based on Gaga’s discography, not a bunch of music I don’t care for. She can only compete with herself and outdo herself. Just because some people want success, charting, and sales, doesn’t mean that many of us who want longer songs with complex structure and intros/outros don’t have a valid opinion. Just look at Bad Romance, The Edge of Glory, Marry The Night. Brilliant songs that have so many parts that come together, and still have replay value. Imagine snipping these 4+ minute songs down to 2:30 seconds. No. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Imagine trimming Bohemian Rhapsody to 2:30 for the “streaming era” as if that’s a legitimate argument 😂

PoshLife 16,928
When I look at my favorite Gaga songs, they range in length from under three minutes to nearly five minutes. So obviously track length doesn't determine whether a song is good or whether it has "artistry." That said, I do get the sense that they made some decisions about song length for purely commercial reasons, like how they apparently shortened Free Woman by thirty seconds for no otherwise discernible reason or how the two hotly anticipated collabs (i.e. likely to be singles) are on the very short end. If they think the songs are better short, that's fine - but if they're taking a hatchet to the songs just to make them more streamable, then I can understand why people think that could come at the expense of artistry or, hell, just giving us more good music to listen to. I don't care enough about the charts to think that's a worthy trade-off

We are no longer limited by disc/vinyl space, yet many are screaming to chop the songs down. We should be using the unlimited space to do more, not less. I think you are missing the point. You are equating songs being short as therefore having no artistry. So if Gaga went and cut the fat off the last minute and a half of poker face, therefore the entire first 2:30 seconds is devoid of artistry? No way. Well, next time, why don't you advise Gaga on how she should write her own songs and manage her own career. You need to stop wanting to manage everything she does. It's not your album nor your career. We, Bobby and Gaga do not need your useless opinion. If you don't like what she does, unstan and get your own career.
