PartySick 161,502
And yet I hear it on the radio nearly every hour. Meanwhile, Rain On Me hasn't been played once. Wtf, radios? You're stinky
Married the Night 3,955
Katy had the GP and never had a big, solid fan base. When the GP left her, so did her success. She also never really had the talent to fall back on to reinvent herself like Gaga did. I believe this will be her last big attempt to tap into mainstream pop music. I think she will step away for several years after the baby and come out with something much more unique for her and it will not be successful either. RochestrMonstr 3,229
This is pretty typical. It’s not normal for a pop girl to be #1 forever. Katy’s chart progression, from the beginning to now, is just a great example of what often happens in the music industry, especially as far as ageism. As others have said, it honestly could be far worse. She’s definitely still in the public eye as a celebrity and has a great job that will keep her there, and gets to put out music whenever she wants. She may be able to score a nice HAC radio hit or something with this again.

What happened to her is kinda a mystery, especially when one remembers how easily she climbed up the charts not so long ago Actually, a lot of her songs are actually sleeper hits. The One that Got Away started at 97 and went to peak at #3, then Firework went to debut at #57 and peaked at the top. Even Roar went to debut at #87. I'm like some kind of supernova
