Do we think Madonna could have another peak in her career?

Supply and demand

I don't think Madonna really knows (or maybe isn't inclined to follow) what would get her back at the top of the charts.

I would love to see it, however.

Her last tours aren t very good

Rebel Heart was amazing, see her performance of Holy Water and her entrance. Madame X looked incredible with the visuals.

I don't really thank so tbh. At least not with an album.

Her career hasn't aged gracefully imo, meaning that she's spent more time trying to be hip and current rather than producing quality music. If she focused more on dance rather than hip-hop/trap I think she could have had a resurgence. But the past few albums have really been mediocre, and kind of feel like a desperate attempt to be relevant.

That being said, Medellin was an underrated BOP. :vegas:

Nope I don't think so, she still seems hung up on trying to be cool with the kids and pretending she is still 25 and having endless featurings, a decade of rent-a-rapper features has alienated alot of her core fan base. I think shes done some fantastic music up to 2005, since then there's been the odd moment but little else.

The most recent album had a lot of promise but then she leads with that awful first single,  and the album itself a bit of a mess

No, I don't think so, at all, and saying this as a huge M fan

The problem is that she is constantly chasing hits by featuring the hottest new star of the moment, and it doesn't really work because the fans of the younger stars are not really interested in Madonna and she is trying to absorb their sound and their fame.

She could reach a new creative peak by doing her own thing

Honestly, her singing and the sound of her voice on the last album was pretty bad - it's not appealing to the listeners ear, so I just can't see radio or streaming widely embracing her ever again. Doesn't negate or lessen her massive chart legacy though.

Madonna isn't cool anymore. She had her time but it's been time for other singers to shine. That's how pop music works.

It's always possible, but I think her ego is getting in the way these days. And I'm not sure she'll ever perform that great in the streaming era, but she'll always have a dedicated army of fans behind her and that's what is going to make her last many more years.

Madonna has survived many new starlets in her career... She has continually gained new fans through 4 decades. These rules don't apply to her. She doesn't need to be cool, she has transcended that: she's a legend.

She already had three peaks. Her first peak was the 80's up until Vogue. Ray of Light and Music albums. And Confessions on a Dance Floor up until 4 Minutes single. That's a lot of peaks for 30+ years.

Soooo true, that's why I think Madame X was a step in the right direction.

But she's considered too old for kids now. Maybe to 20 something year olds that remember Hung Up, but a 60 something year old woman just isn't going to be in the same playlist as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars anymore.

Older artists just don't do good on the charts because pop music is about youth. Kids and young adults who dominate the hits don't care about her new songs. She was lucky that Hung Up was so successful, although that was a time when Ray of Light and Music was still fresh on people's minds. But now, nah.

She's a legacy artist now and should be more concerned about making music for her fans and growing as an artist and sitting on her millions then getting another hit. She doesn't need to and we're not here for it.
