Don't get wrong, I did too. It's a great pop song for the era (fond memories of it always playing at my local shopping mall). I just found it funny requesting a song that came out this week on a station that's playing a song that hasn't been new in 11 years.

I don't know I don't find it that odd

 

Many top 40 stations here in Toronto throw in a lot of throw backs here and there

 

Some will occasionally go as far back as like 2004

For me songs from pre-2005 feel like throwbacks whereas song from 2005-2015 just feel crusty and dusty with the songs at the center of that range tending to be the crustiest and dustiest.
