giskardsb 12,565
dunno how you guys listen to pop radio. Browsing Sirius yesterday I decided to pop over on Z100 and KIIS to see what was up. What was up was basically them playing the same 10 songs over and over and over and over. How much Harry Styles, Dojocat, and Dua Lipa is really necessary? It's not even the quality of music played, its the endless repetition and stagnation. And this happened just poking back to the stations periodically throughout the day. Just annoying. The major pop stations in the US are useless, all they care about is paid record deals and boring uniformity. On the other hand, I decided hey lets pop over to "The Pulse" on Sirius and see what is going on. The first song I heard was:

Brecht 7
I haven't listened to the radio in literally 6 or 7 years but it has always been like that. One of the biggest examples of Kulturindustrie.
WhiskeyLikeMisery 418
Pop radio has always been very repetitive as far back as I can remember. Every since having the ability to connect a device to play my own music I've never gone back to radio.

In theory it's a place to go to hear things you haven't heard before but radio isn't adventurous enough to make that worthwhile. Its nice having the variety on Sirius though, and internet "radio." It's the normal over-the-air radio that is stagnant.
